Helltides Changes?

Last weekend when I was doing my helltides, I would routinely do an extra 300-400 shards on my barb, log out, log in my necro and go hit up a steel chest.

Noticed this weekend logging out on my barb all my shards vanished when my necro got there. I tried it now with two back to back helltides.

Was there a change or is this a bug I’m seeing, and if it was a change, where is it posted as I don’t recall seeing anything here or on wowhead/reddit about it.

Maybe it was a bug and now it’s fixed?

Just happened twice in the last 2 hours, so not sure if it is fixed.

Just found it weird. At least the second time I didn’t log off with a crazy amount of helltide shards lol

sounds like you were exploiting a bug that is now fixed

How is it exploiting if it was something that existed as part of the game and didn’t really give me any advantage? Each character can open the living steel boxes each time. I find one character more fun than the other for doing helltides. I am doing the work collecting the items.

If it was fixed as a bug, I guess it would be too much to ask this small indie company to actually let players know about it. Hence why I was asking if this was a bug that was fixed.

in case you never read the eula

it doesnt matter if it existed as part of the game as you say

I just now tested this. I logged in a character, 33 minutes left on the hell tide in WT4. I killed 5 mobs, got 3 cinders.

Logged out the character and then logged in a 2nd character and ran into a hell tide zone and I can see the same 3 cinders available to me.

As far as I can tell the cinders are still account bound and not bound to each character only.

The cinders are still available for me when I switch to my other level 100. Did you happen to switch right as helltides ended? They also only show if you’re in the helltides. Even if you’re in a city surrounded by helltides they don’t show. Did you walk out to check?

Or switch from a tier IV to a tier III character. I know you said to another 100, but he didn’t. Could be the cause.
