Helltides = Auto Part Salvage Yard

For Loot Reborn, the developers significantly decreased the number of items that drop when slaying monsters, but in Helltides, it’s the exact opposite. I really enjoy Helltides, but the loot needs to be seriously toned down and reduce the screen clutter!

Helltides is akin to your local auto part salvage yard to salvage all the junk you acquire.

I’d prefer more item drops actually. For me it feels like Helltides are more about supplies than loot.

So the amount of items dropped from enemies has reduced significantly. What you’re talking about are the Blood Maidens, which drop a decent amount of loot by themselves, especially if you donated to summon her.

Everything else in helltide has the normal drop rates. So easy solution, don’t go near the blood maiden spawning area. Everyone else can enjoy loads of drops, and you can ignore them completely.

Problem solved. You’re welcome.

they should add a blacksmith at the maiden spawns area so you can just salvage all the junk to clear the screen. I know asking for /hide loot is out of the question or for our pets to pick up yellows and below to auto smash

Maybe they can add a summon a personal smithy in the cash shop for 10 bucks so you can just win by having a personal on the road smasher on your mount

The dog/pet needs to be taught to sell/salvage all yellow-or-below items. Just another setting in the pet-skin closet.

Such a disingenuous response. Telling players to avoid literally the ONLY social event in the game is nonsensical.

The OP has a point. There’s a clear discrepancy in drop rates happening in helltides from the intended design of “loot reborn”. It does feel like a junk yard, plus the density is so ridiculous you can’t even port out to town to vendor all the junk and then come back and do it again.

So if you were hitting yourself with a hammer, and I told you if you stopped doing that you wouldn’t have the problem of your head hurting, that would be disingenuous?

I find it rather disingenuous to take away the rewards of an optional activity from other players who wish to engage in it and like said activity, just because some one doesn’t want more loot.

Now here’s a wild thought, but Helltides, by design are meant to have more Elites and boss type enemies popping up at you, all over the place. By contrast every other activity in the game does not offer nearly as much density as a Helltide.

So with that in mind, and the fact elites and bosses are designed to drop more loot when killed, it would make sense that the more time you spend in a Helltide the more loot you will get. There’s plenty of other options in the game for whatever you need, aside from farming Living Steel more efficiently.

Now if they added an elixir that limited your drops the OP could use, I’m all for it. By all means make it so there’s in a 1 in 10 chance they get loot from enemies. I don’t see my suggestions coming to fruition though, just as I don’t see the OPs being implemented either. Good luck though.

In the patch notes update, the helltide loot goes against their own design philosophy…

“The goal here is to spend more time obliterating and less time sorting through the many items that drop. The result is that fewer items will drop overall, but those items will be more likely to be valuable.”

Flame me if you want, but I want a summonable blacksmith / vendor that persists for several minutes, anyone can use it in the area until it disappears. It doesn’t need to masterwork or temper, just salvage and sell. I forget the MMO I played that had that but it was glorious.

On an unrelated note, what am i supposed to do with this Plat?? edit: i have no plat.

I dont want to see yellows every. Auto salvage please

great idea now thats going to be in the cash shop…

It would have been anyway if they weer going to do it. We all know they histrionics and gnashing of teeth they would get if they did this.

do you remember wow at launch when a gm on active servers would pop in from time to time in /2? ban some bad trolls and rmt spam then say have a good day? we didnt have ti nearly as much. you could pay some high school/college kid 15 per hour to do this and it would make them a lot more money because the rmt people buy more accounts

The only way the loot spawn at Blood Maiden is so much that it’s bothering you is if you’re doing repeat spawns over and over and over and over and over without picking anything up, selling/salvaging, or at least picking up the trash and dropping it nearby out of your way. None of which are hard to do. The issue isn’t really with the game, the issue lies with you.

More so to do with the density, rather than their philosophy of having gear be impactful. As it stands we still get a lot of junk loot. If you don’t engage in Helltides it would take a considerable amount of time to find upgrades going into the lategame. This is an option you can take by all means.

So for a game that promotes getting back into the fight faster, this makes sense to have one optional activity that offers more loot only due to the fact there’s more density of enemies.

Elites and bosses will always drop more loot, if NMD were filled with nothing but Elites back to back every time you came upon some enemies it would have the same amount of loot dropping.

All I’m asking for is a compromise, I do not like cancel culture. ‘This is inconvenient for me so let’s get rid of it’ doesn’t make a whole lot of sense to me. Some people are not willing to work toward a compromise, they just want things changed. I’m always for more options, even if I won’t use said options.

Wow had vendor mounts so probably that.

Well, you found the issue then. It’s against the design philosophy of this patch specifically.

Helltide is what the whole game should be, endless waves and packs of increasing density. The ‘Hells Fury’ buff that builds up is great, the Golden (icon) bosses are great (except they get a really powerful Frost Orb :unamused:). The loot rains like candy, it’s almost all trash.

That’s all great for me. To improve it, i’d like a loot filter, or a mobile vender/salvage, or some other way to keep doing what is fun but not losing out on so many of the 1,000s of resources you’ll need later.

If I could, my pet would simply salvage what I tell it to, or instead of the crud loot, it would be converted to gold drops, or the equivalent materials, whatever.

Again, that goes against their own design philosophy for the patch.

All the drops & clutter are great to pick when when youre broke & outta mats. Would be nice if there was an autosalvage pet option. Ie on the pet screen selection you could check a box for it to salvage or not. Some ppl dont want it to.
