I mean not much to say. Helltides are super boring and i’d rather be pushing Nightmare sigils or pretty much anything else but feel super forced into it to be able to reroll stats etc which is essential core to the D4 experince.
I get the devs wants to push experincing the open world but maybe allow to get Forgotten souls by other means?
For me it is only enoyable thing left. All dungons with fluid play are nerfed.
Who love opening doors, playing “blindfolded” due to walls and doors blocking view, running “forever” for next mob, not mobs!. OH ya if you crash you are sendt back to major city and dungoen is reset.
Nightmare dungoen is proberly most awfull thingy I’ve experienced.
3 of the first negative affixed is beyond bad. Dont rember name, but shield that pops out of star, stone that follow and explode and last big bloob that spawn random in middle of fights.
From my point of view they failed hard with nightmare dungoens.
All the loot is from Helltide Mystery chests. If they nerf helltides instead of buffing T50+ Nightmare dungeons I’m gonna lose my mind even more than I already have.
It would be cool if helltide effected dungeons in zones and gave them some extra density, but if you die you lose 100% of your shards. The lava circles still happen in the dungeon and the enemies are 3-5 levels higher than you
Similarly, it would be cool if tree of whisper dungeons were harder with better density and an xp bonus
This would allow all dungeons to be utilized, with better density, xp gains and rewards, as well as give an alternative to outdoor play when it comes to helltides
My favorite content is Stronghold, only because they give 100 Renown each so I can unlock the final Renown reward ASAP, but pity there are only 3 per region, so I have to be forced to do many boring side quests I don’t like to get Renown.
I like Helltides more than nightmare dungeons, at least I’m free to kill/farm whatever I want and it’s easy to see my progress towards a really good shoot at great loot. I just wish they had a lot more events, marked all events on the map so people know where to go, and the bosses were made way more rewarding. I usually just bounce between 2 events and kill any elites/bosses in-between. It’s just chill and They need more events and to mark them on the map so people know they are up.
Doing helltides for “loot” is super bad and the only reason anyone towards endgame is doing them is being forced to as it’s the only means of getting lost souls.
I think Hellltides is the best D4 endgame activity, on paper…
But all the activities in endgame needs to offer same difficulty. Which jsust isn’t the case so far.
So, make helltides and tree of whisper stuff come with the same scaling seen in Nightmare Dungeons.
Don’t repeat the Grift mistake of D3
As for Helltides, less focus should be on the events. Add more random bosses, elites, treasure goblins etc. so it is worth running around the zone, and not just beeline the events.
I loathe the nm dungeons and pretty much only did ht and whispers. ht and whispers can often be done on the same map/region, which is nice because it feels efficient.
Doesn´t really matter where you kill the mobs after all.
im honestly opposite on this, dungeons are super boring now with no real rewards for running harder NM ones, and the mob density in helltides and the pvp area are just way better then any dungeon now its sad
Everything in the endgame is lacking. There are only two things you can even farm. NM dungeons and Helltide. They need to increase the mob density by 100% across the board. Helltide is just run from one small pack to the next. Often times I have trouble getting enough cinders if i’m not in a group.
I think Helltides should be a continuous stream of demons generating attacks from various places, but the reality is that you have to constantly search the map to find that small group of demons.
Every 4-8 players entering a Helltide event get put together in a town that they have to defend the entrances from demons breaking in. Demons will come from all directions in waves, each wave stronger and comes with a boss at the end of each wave.
The players can use defensive equipment in the various parts of the town such as traps, catapults, ballistae. If they’re destroyed by demons, they can’t be used anymore.
The town is divided into districts. Every time the demons destroy the buildings and kill all villagers in the district, the playing area narrows and the players have to retreat further into the town, and the demons grow even stronger.
Game ends when the players all die without being revived, or when the town center is destroyed and all villagers killed.
Rewards given according to how long game lasts.
This is very fun game mode I suggest for Helltide.
