← this is the actual Mysterious/Living Steel Detection Radius if anyone was curious. As close as I could get it.
I hope the following is agreeable for both sides.
Please let me know what you think, what’s on your wish-list, what should be/shouldn’t be altered or anything you can think of.
1. Helltide Frequency/Uptime
Helltide should NOT have 100% Uptime.
Yes I said that. Very unpopular…bear with me.
Helltides currently run at 1hr uptime, 75min downtime rotations.
- My proposed change: 15 minute downtime.
Why?
Primarily, There’s 4 flavors of Helltides at the current 1h15m rotation and this would smoothly maintain that rotation while…
a. Giving downtime to players(this is necessary and it’s ONLY 15 minutes)
b. Helltide uptime would be much much more frequent than it is while maintaining at least some(Dev philosophy) downtime.
Players on a tight schedule could pop in and access content much more easily and for many a more frequent HT schedule would probably be very welcome.
c. Finally, most importantly: Rotations, medicine and candy…
The 4 flavors of Helltide.
With this change, HT Rotates: On the Hour, 1/4 past, 1/2 past,1/4 til the hour.
15minute downtime would give 4 of each variant with 3 others day to day.(19.2 total HTs in 24hours).
Players have the opportunity to Farm 4x daily: The best & good(2xCandy), decent & bad(2xmedicine) Helltides throughout the day along with 3 others rotating day by day.
This is the core of why No 100% Uptime and “ask for everything, you may get what you want…”.
Imagine if the Devs put it on the Hour for 100% uptime? There’d never, ever be a chest reset cycle. “Oh but we meant put it on the 1/4 past or 1/2 past! Change it!!”.
(- *Note regarding Cinders Carryover: This is for PLAYERS to discuss and ask for. I have zero input here except to say that, imo this may be asking for a bit too much~might defeat the whole purpose of the timed event? idk… that’s on the community.)

- Proposed Middle-Ground Change: Greatly Increase the Detection Radius of Mysterious and Living Steel Chests!
I took some screenshots and established the Actual Detection Radius of Myst/LS Chests.
It’s quite a small radius. Smaller than I’d imagined it to be.

*Edit and Note: I used the Whisper Event Corpse Boss for the baseline Radius examples only.
It could be larger… Discuss.

Do the math detectives…deductive reasoning.
- There’s 2 chests that function exactly the same mechanically.
a. Of the 2 Chests - Has this EVER happened with a Mysterious Chest? A: No.
b. What’s different about the Living Steel Chest? A: The Boss/Elite that spawns with it accomanied by Special Effect/Bubble, jazz etc.
c. What does that monster do? A: It RESPAWNS.
Summary - There’s a conflict between the Chest and the Chest Elite.
Conclusion - Remove the Elite.

The Elite is a non threatening, nice thought, “fun the first time” and at this point nothing but a Grinning Problem causing people to GET PISSED OFF and have to jump through various hoops HOPING a Chest will spawn so they can Farm Materials for Uber Runs!
Devs devs devs… we’re nearing the “28 Days Later” mark of how long this “Bug” has persisted. Fix this! #DeletetheElite

→ Preface: The following proposal follows a simple rule: “If one asks for everything, they may end up getting nothing - or worse, they’ll get what they asked for.”
Currently there are issue concerning Helltides, some have been an ongoing topic for a long time.
S2’s Blood Harvest and S2’s Uber Material farming have further brought to them light. One through contrast of zone population & uptime, the other through frequency(uptime) necessary to acquire said materials - both with engagement and sense of reward.
It is apparent the Developers have their own design philosophy and Players have voiced their desire for change.
My goal is to create a solution that is more of a middle ground versus the extreme of: inaction by the Devs where they firmly stand their design ground and what I see in some Player requests - a bit of an excessive ask - regarding changes.
