He killed Belial 3500 times (Loot Drop Statistics)

Player was asking 2 billions for the Ring. Max gold I ever had this season is around 1.5 bil. I have been giving for free my Runes which I don’t need anymore and proposed to offer Runes in exchange. He asked for 10 EOM or OHM. I gave him 12.

If you play Eternal, I believe I have one Perfect Blue Rose in my Eternal Stash maybe also an X’Fals

Not sure many players are using Blue Rose, probably even less players using X’Fals. Last time I used it was for my S2 Poison Twisting Blades Rogue.

When Diablo 2 came out, there weren’t hundreds of easily accesible, great games to play coming out on a regular basis.

If it’s going to take me 3500+ tries to get a chase item (one that I don’t actually even need for any game content) nowadays, I’m not even going to bother. And if the game isn’t engaging beyond that, I’ll just play something different.

The gaming landscape (and media landscape in general) is completely different now than when D2 came out. It’s basically meaningless to compare something like farm time averages between the two. At minimum, it’s disingenuous to whatever point you think you’re making.

Sure. But that is also the point imo. You shouldnt feel like you need the chase items. They very much should not be for the majority, since the majority will never see them.
Make the “needed” items reasonably accessible. Or better yet, move the needed part to the skill tree and such.

That player was looking for the 4GA Ophidian Iris and after 3500 kills he found zero.

I found one at the beginning of the season after less than a hundred Belial kills. I felt like winning the lottery. This shows you how random is truly random.

I normally just settle down for a 1 or 2GA each season.

One thing is for sure, Belial hates us all! :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:

Ban him
He uses duping

In a game with “infinite” progression (via Pit scaling), that’s a very relative thing.

You could make a very solid argument that’s the case now, though I don’t know that many players would agree. That’s despite a super tiny minority ever playing long enough for the top 1% of optimization to ever matter.

That’s true. X’Fal is perfect for “Damage over Time builds” only - for example - Necromancer with Shadow Damage Explosive Corpses or Barbarian with bleeding skills.

Sounds about right, what you want the game to have no grind in it? what you want everything handed to you? players just dont want to no life grind, main-profession IRL play the game, second profession doesnt have a job anymore?

:100:% this. Too old, been down that road way too many times in different games. I could spend countless hours farming for items I know I would never use to their fullest potential, or I can go play Silksong and get my butt handed to me over and over and actually make progress. Yea, I’ll take Silksong.

I’ll be back for S10, but not before then. D4 scratches that itch of just mowing down demons for a bit, I get my seasonal objectives done, then I call it good until next season. That’s all these type of games have ever been to me. I’m not spending months to years searching for the holy grail of items.

It is the case now. But the price of getting there was absurd droprates in an absurd itemization system.
If they moved the build defining affixes to skill trees, we could have rare items.
Whereas you cant tell players (nor should you) that they need to kill Belial 3500 times if they want to make a Fireball sorc. That should work, on a functional level, without any items at all.

Have the developers seen this? Will they adjust the drop rate to tune it to the real numbers advertised? Can players sue the company now for false advertisement? What will happen next? Tune in to Season 10, 11, and 12 over the next half of year, to find out the same thing, its the same thing every time! Surprise!

You really need to read through the EULA. A lawyer wouldn’t even take the time of day for something like this.

4GA’s do need to be rare. I think each GA should probably be more powerful though than currently. As was said it’s not like a 4GA skyrockets you in the pit. The pit being the only place being strong matters.

Good data… Very good number of attempts… approximately 0.5%… Sounds fair, but being a boss it’s clearly difficult to do consistently.

Surprising for mythics. Add results to main post:

3500 Belial Kills

0 GA - 22086 / 6.31 per kill
1 GA - 8638 / 2.47 per kill
2 GA - 689 / 0.20 per kill
3 GA - 67 / 0.02 per kill
4 GA - 20 / 0.0057 per kill (Yikes)
Mythical - 101 / 0.029 per kill (higher than expected)

Takeaways:
1] You are wasting your time trying to get the 4 GA item you want this way.

2] The chance to get mythical is atrocious but more than I thought. I thought it was 1% or less but its nearly 3%. Much worse than the 7.3% or so it was with the cumulative 1.5% per drop we had before. Dupes taken into account now??? This why it is so much less???

3] The chance to get a mythical is higher than the chance to get a 3 GA and 4 GA unique combined. Yikes.

Thing is you don’t really need a 4 g/a,there is no content that requires one. First season for me since Voh launch, completed everything solo with 1 g/a items and no mythics on a Barb.

I’d rather eat black licorice

I like the German licorice,it’s salty

ITs the best flavor though…

If the tea leaves are to be believed, we’re likely to see something like this coming soon; a separation of the behavior modifying part of an aspect and the damage modifying part of the aspect.

Anybody with the renown can have a Fireball sorc now at level 1. You can defeat all content on T1 without a build defining unique, though I’d at least recommend you wear something.
