Settings are reflected when HDR is off.
The values in LocalPrefs.txt have been changed correctly and the brightness settings, etc. are changed correctly at startup. However, once the slider is not moved sideways, the default brightness remains.
Noticed the same thing, also, something about the brightness ingame now seems off. Cant put my finger on it.
Those of you having issues, try resetting your LocalPrefs file.
To do this:
- Make sure Diablo IV is not running
- Open Documents\Diablo IV
- Find the file LocalPrefs
- Rename it
- Then launch Diablo IV
- It will go through initial graphic setup and will reset your video options to defaults

But it was not resolved.
I noticed that if I change even one item in the graphic settings, the setting is reflected and the screen brightness changes.
I am glad to notice that there are others with the same symptoms.
Well, for now you just have to turn off HDR, then turn it back on. But you will need to do this every time you play.
Just wanted to see if the file would fix it or not. Thanks for confirming.
I want to point out, this recent patch seems to have fixed the issue, at least for me.
The opening logo’s still look more vivid, but once at the character screen, it looks normal now.
Yes, it seems to have been fixed in my environment.
