HOTA 90 hardcore barb, i currently have:
Exploit + Wrath (multiplicative dmg)
Might + Marhsal (100%+ increased rare nodes for increasing damage reduction and multiplicative damage)
Undaunted + Territorial (damage reduction)
But im specializing on executing enemies with a single hit, so recently i dropped swords for axes because of the +damage to healthy. Since i always basic attack before HOTA just to be sure i have maximum fury, mortal draw has a great sinergy both with HOTA and with the executing on first hit approach, since its the highest additive damage increase we can get plus it gives +18% critical chance on weapon switch, which i always does before using HOTA.
With that said, i want to put mortal draw on my build, but im not sure if i can afford to drop any of the current glyphs im using. What change would you guys do?
Replacing one of the slotted glyph means you are giving up something for the new one. The benefit has to be better than the tradeoff. In your case, it doesn’t seem like the tradeoff is good enough. I suggest wait until you get that 5th board to slot in Moral Draw glyph.
I currently have 6 boards and slotted glyphs…mortal draw would have to be 7th without replacing the current ones.
DUDE! 6 paragon board is way too much. Unless that 18% crit chance can make it so you’re at 100% crit chance, it isn’t worth the playstyle. Your other option is to get rid of defensive glyphs but I don’t think that’s a good option for HC.
You have to do the math. Mortal Draw (if you actually do switch between weapons on most attacks) is the biggest additive dmg increase you can get of all the glyphs (~+15% per dex node, compares to +8-10% on others) AND you get the separate 18% crit chance roll. So for DPS it’s clearly better than almost anything. The only question you have to ask yourself is that, as it’s purely DPS, is it better than undaunted or territorial that have survivability benefits?
Mathematically it may be better than Wrath even though Wrath benefits crit just because the number is so much higher (depends on your build but for most builds this will be the case). The only reason why incremental crit dmg is better than incremental additive bucket dmg is because additive bucket is usually much bigger than crit bucket. But for almost everyone your additive bucket will not be double the size of the crit bucket, while the incremental additive dmg from Mortal Draw is more than 2x the incremental crit dmg provided by Wrath. That’s without even taking into account the bonus 18% crit chance roll. Mortal Draw is the best DPS glyph Barbs have.
Just generally following the top players
Imbiber is in my opinion a bigger damage increase for a Glyph. The 30% Potion Healing does come in handy as you will be actually using Potions in high NMD often.
I run Exploit, Mortal Draw, Imbiber, Might, Wrath, and Undaunted. No Shouts so no Marshal.

So, I was told that Mortal Draw doesn’t give you 18% additional crit chance.
Word is that it rolls your crit chance twice, giving you an 18% chance if the first roll doesn’t crit. I can’t confirm or deny this myself, but hopefully somebody can test this somehow, or shed some light.
Statistically rolling 68% once or 50% + 18% on two rolls lead to the same result on the long term. But due to variance its better to spread the chance across many rolls to limit the chance of having “bad luck” (1-68% happening), so if that is the case, then its actually stronger.
The way it was explained to me, it’s just a flat 18% on the second roll. It doesn’t work off your crit chance at all.
I’m dropping might … and I don’t know why lol… everything else seems so strong
That would actually be a pretty large nerf to Crit Chance then…
