First I know I am going to get flamed for this…oh well.
I paid $$ for Diablo 4 and I am already not playing it because I have more fun in Diablo immortal. And no I have not spent a dime on DI.
It just seems to me that there are so many more things to do in that game. There are rifts, quests, pvp, bounties, Shadow and immortal quests and activities and events like the current trial of the hordes and shady stock. I am sure I am missing some events and game modes. Also the combat feels faster and more exciting than D4.
Flame on…

Nothing wrong with leaving one video game you don’t enjoy for another video game that you do enjoy. No reason to flame you over an opinion one way or the other. I have no doubt people will flame you for it, but they’re just random voices on the internet, who cares?
As the saying goes, dance like no one’s watching, or in the case of us gamers, stream like you have no viewers.

Netease has a huge cache of mobile RPG content to draw from and reskin. It doesn’t surprise me that there’s much more to do there.
I just don’t like the monetization of the mobile gaming space. Though Marvel Snap has a become one mobile indulgence, I do buy the season pass for it every month. The entertainment value I get from that $10, is certainly worth it.
No need to flame, diablo immortal is actually a better game than d4

Nice try, but I simply don’t believe you.
- Immortal has worse graphics (for a mobile game they are good but comparing to D4 and I prefer D2/D4 darker style),
- controls feel clunky (with that p2w money they could at least make it work smooth like D3/D4),
- p2w gambling,
- annoying notifications constantly telling you to collect reward from many different ui screens.
I could agree that some of its endgame modes are better but I barely managed to reach them because I was already discouraged from the above. D4 feels better.
I tried it on my phone, but can’t stand the control scheme of mobile games
I have no doubt that diablo immortal is a better game. I just can’t overlook the p2w monetization of it.
Of course, it is. It wasn’t developed by the team that made d4. It’s pay 2 win, so they obviously see the credit card warriors as a meal ticket. Suckers lining up by the dozens.
But don’t you have a PC? That is where I paly it and controls are fine.
Ah cool. Enjoy Diablo Immortal. Not every game is suitable for every player. Find a game you enjoy and play it. Not even sure why this needs to be discussed, it’s just common sense.
I keep hearing how good D:I is. I never touched it because it’s a p2w game. I am starting to think I should at least try it. Does it actually look decent on PC or does it look like dated pixilated poop due to being a mobile game?
Nobody’s going to flame you moving from one blizzard title to another. You mention poe though and the zealots and fanboys will type an essay on why you shouldnt be having fun outside of blizzard.
I said this in a few other threads. Mobile gaming is so much more popular now than even console and PC gaming, that the mobile games get all the stuff that the AAA PC releases should have. Immortal should be D4 (without any of the P2W stuff ofc), and D4 should be Immortal.
Pay to win doesn’t mean pay to enjoy. Especially for a game that you literally can’t win at (Diablo games and the RPG/ARPG genre in general). So play away. The Blood Knight class is very cool.
There’s no P2W in Diablo Immortal. Sorry. You can’t pay to win something that can’t be won. There’s paying for power, which you can also gain without paying, but no winning at the game and no paying for something that can’t be done.
Who cares what others think? Play the game you enjoy - if others have a problem, well that’s their problem, not yours.
Mama Cass put it best
I played both and whaled on DI. In some way it’s p2w in terms of:
- PvP (more whales have better chance of winning)
- Beating higher raids (forgot the name already. It’s been a while)
- Beating world bosses
- Higher rifts
But beyond that your clan or guild is often composed of ordinary folks who spent maybe a $100 or $200 (that’s really nothing in DI).
I think the best part I like in DI is the chat system. Global chat was fun, but it’s also the worst because it’s like social media where anyone can be attacked with mob mentality. My biggest issue with DI was the drama among clans and power grabbing.
D4 has less drama in game. Well, there is no world chat. So if you like some peace of mind, this game is better unless you join Discord or these forums lol. But barring those things, D4 is better if you want some quiet time.
In terms of things to do, DI has more. I like the armory and how the aspects or legendaries are reusable. You can have open world farm spots too and not just NM 100 dungeons.
At this point, I think DI is a better game but I won’t be going back there because it has more drama than D4. Also there’s a lot of female players in DI (surprisingly).
Edit:
You can still do a lot of things even if you don’t p2w, but it’s best if you spent at least $100 to get those starter good value packs as they name it. The person who I have donated my account was really good at the game. Very patient and didn’t really spend much beyond $200.
Edit:
oh I missed messing up newbs on that Blood Rose! If you play DI, you know how that goes lol
Because people really crave attention these days. It’s the gender reveal/take pics of all their meals crowd. They think every thought they have needs to be shared on social media.
So you can “awaken” gear in D:I without paying now?
