I’ve been experiencing disconnect issues with Season4. Initially, I thought updating my wireless drivers might solve the problem. After updating the drivers, the disconnects continued. While reviewing my wireless settings, I noticed that my ‘Preferred Band’ setting was set to ‘5GHz’ instead of ‘2.4GHz’. I remembered encountering similar disconnect issues with handhelds during a warehouse deployment I managed, which the disconnects were caused by this setting being on 5GHz.
I switched the setting to 2.4GHz, and for the past two days, I haven’t had any disconnects.
If you’d like to try this solution, follow these steps:
- Go to Devices > Network Adapters.
- Right-click on your wireless adapter and select Properties.
- In the Properties window, go to the Advanced tab.
- Scroll down the list and find Preferred Band.
- Switch it to 2.4GHz.
- Disable your wireless adapter, then enable it again for the setting to take effect.
