Having Disconnect Issue - Read this

I’ve been experiencing disconnect issues with Season4. Initially, I thought updating my wireless drivers might solve the problem. After updating the drivers, the disconnects continued. While reviewing my wireless settings, I noticed that my ‘Preferred Band’ setting was set to ‘5GHz’ instead of ‘2.4GHz’. I remembered encountering similar disconnect issues with handhelds during a warehouse deployment I managed, which the disconnects were caused by this setting being on 5GHz.

I switched the setting to 2.4GHz, and for the past two days, I haven’t had any disconnects.

If you’d like to try this solution, follow these steps:

  1. Go to Devices > Network Adapters.
  2. Right-click on your wireless adapter and select Properties.
  3. In the Properties window, go to the Advanced tab.
  4. Scroll down the list and find Preferred Band.
  5. Switch it to 2.4GHz.
  6. Disable your wireless adapter, then enable it again for the setting to take effect.
