Have you seen the trailer for Path of Exile 2?

It blows you away how a team 20 times smaller and with a 500% lower budget can make a game that blows diablo 4 out of the water in every single aspect.

That is what you get when you’re so greedy that you water down your IP to suit as large of a player base as possible, you’ll end up with a bland flaming piece of garbage no one enjoy.

Why couldn’t they have been smart and nisched their target audience to ppl who actually likes arpg games instead of including the mmorpg ppl and the mario bros ppl and all that.

how is it that PoE2 has 1500 passive skill points and diablo 4 has about 20. the skills are so few, there’s no build variety and despite that they’re all bugged after years and years of development.

$90 bucks and this is what we get. gees almighty. and you still slither around the additional stash tabs because you need to wait and see how the player base frustration is in season 2 if you can offer the stash tabs for real money you greedy sobs.

I found the game boring to play in the beta but i bought it anyways because you figure there was much more to the game than what u saw in the beta but nope, its all the same. with level scaling nothing changes. you feel like ur standing still.

You made a beautiful open world but i guess it was just to showcase in trailers and stuff because you dont untilize it in the slightest. When players ride around the map we stare at the small map in the corner and can’t see the periferal view of the map. When we fight monsters we teleport to dungeons. there’s no use for the world.

I know it’s a bad idea to follow ideas presented by the players, that would make for a terrible game too but in your fire side chats when you announce that you will implement an idea that the players has been asking for you get praise, i see youtube videos that you WIN, GOAT, BEST and such words…so one could wonder why you have the leaders in the dev team when what you suggest and produce it is met with a lackluster bah from the player base but when you actually listen to the core player base the ones that actually play the game and implement one of their suggestion you get a pedestal to sit on. Think…whats wrong here. Don’t be greedy, narrow down your target audience, focus on things that that target group like rather than forcing players to all of the sudden start to like a different genre of games.

Like arpg fans likes to slay monsters by the billion and get rewards and loot in the end so try that. Give us a dungeon full of monsters we kill and in the end met a boss and kill him and get loot.

Not a dungeon scarse of monsters with some kinda puzzle mechanic to find things to put in things and then backtrack through an empty dungeon to find the last thing and then finally when u killed everything you have a long long passage to reach the boss room as if to increase the dramatic effect and then you kill him and u get nothing most times. can’t you see that those two things are two very different things,

Im sure that the last one is suitable to mmorpg ppl, where they can enjoy the lore of the world but its not for D2 fans, they don’t give a crap about lore, we want to slay and not with long pauses. We dont want to ride for along time in the world without monsters just to get to the place where there are monsters. darn it, its so simple but it never reach your understanding.

they consider “skill points” as the +1 nodes so that argument is flawed

but the other parts… 30+ classes, 600 monsters, 100 bosses

that’s… just amazing… any d4 fanboy who says otherwise… is lying to themselves…

d4 has like 15 monsters…

I’ve only played campaign for PoE since 2012, never really touched atlas maps but I always return every 3-6 months in excitement.

The best part of PoE is making my own unique builds, so I never use build guides, since I only play the campaign (and other seasonal content) and don’t need to “meta”.

But every time I return to PoE, I always find something different to do, and never get bored because there are so many activities. I take my time doing campaign and other seasonal content and by the time I finish campaign, which is usually around level 80, I stop playing since maps doesn’t interest me.

Then immediately, I make another character and do it all over again until I’ve had enough, before coming back next Season. I’ve been playing like this for the past 11 years and am never bored.

In contrast, I can’t bring myself to even finish Season 1 Battle Pass of Diablo 4.

There are so few viable builds, so linear skill paths, lack of build diversity, and lack of build customization.

Apart from the complicated skills part plus the weapon swap skill tree interaction nonsense everything was amazing.

The bosses has some serious creativity put into it, it clearly shows D4 the epitome of being “challenging”

Then the class ascendants, man those variety of classes. That short footage of the Druid lashing out at monsters, makes D4 Druid feels like a teddy bear.

Aren’t they owned by Tencent? Hardly a small company.
Look forward to trying it anyway.

If it has an exp penalty on death, I will not even install the game. It may even have horrible one shot mechanics like PoE does.

Yeah but ones not even a game yet… So yeah.

In the whole dungeon

I wonder if the current D4 team is actually as large as the credits imply. Considering the game went through multiple teams I imagine the credits includes all or most of those prior teams.

That would certainly result in the post-launch team being much much smaller.

I just watched. It looks pretty good.
I’ve seen a lot of ideas that blizzard has forgotten about. They will probably steal them in a few months.
This game will be available for free?

oh no, really? tencent bought them up?
Then we should just expect to have all our personal data captured by the chinese communist state if we play that game.

Chinase have their own Poe game and servers, they collect data there … Its totaly diffrent game with auto Looting pets/ auctio house etc

I bet it will be free and all real money are consmetics and stash tabs and such.
So you know blizzard is draggin that stash tab “complication” out because they really wants to charge real money for it but they just cant do it now when everyone is hating on them so they have to wait til s2 to decide if the we would get too upset or eat it up and buy the tabs.

The game looks like they have 10x the budget and 3x the team.
Bobby would want $500 for such a game at the start.
That is, they must have better management if they are making a game with passion.

It is incredibly easy to make a good trailer.

It is very hard to make a good game.

Anthem had a great trailer. That game died within a month of launch.

Ultima Online 2 also had a great trailer (for its time period but I am positive almost no one has ever seen it besides myself) and that game was canceled. It also played more like Everquest from what I remember which is completely opposite what is implied in the trailer.

Can’t wait to see if they can do Map properly in PoE 2…

PoE map is worst i have seen lol. Map says go left but you have to go right! :joy:

That’s how my time with PoE ended. I beat the campaign, started doing maps, got bored, and haven’t returned. That was years ago. I doubt I’ll even try PoE2. I don’t even know how I managed to beat the campaign, since I was so bored throughout.

Just saw they basically have class based skills now (maybe?) and a dodge roll lol.

Pretty cool to see they are turning it into more of an action game like Lost Ark as well. The biggest gripe I always had with PoE was the whole 1 button, 1 movement/utility and the rest are auras. With proper class locked skills, it makes the game combat more slow and combo based which is nice, instead of blowing up 50mobs in 2 secs and surfing around

dodge roll was before lost ark, it was in diablo 3… but a lot of bots and npcs seem to forgot about this
