Has optimization gone down?

I was curious if anyone has been experiencing higher temps in CPU and GPU?

I’ve played all the betas, early access and up until this point - either the 1.03 update or nvidias 4060 update, the game felt stable and wasn’t making my temps go high.

I’ve noticed changes in my desktop and laptop when playing Diablo 4

in my laptop I have a Ryzen 9 5900 - usually on ultra settings and capped fps I sit at 60c even with a screen full of enemies, except loading screens it’ll spike for a second. Now Im fluctuating from 60c-90c even in the menu at times.

Any idea what happened?

EDIT: I should say no matter settings issue persists. Low Ultra doesn’t matter

at this point it just seems this game is an unfinished mess on all ends sadly
i dont think they know what is going on either
people experience different issues on a patch by patch basis

What is your framerate cap, by vsync or hard cap? Or no limit?
Anyway, It’s just you, everything fine on my end. If your temperatures aren’t right, you can:
decrease graphical fidelity (you tried that one already)
disable PBO boosting in BIOS
Limit CPU max frequency in BIOS/Windows
Decrease GPU max TDP
Clean laptop fans
Limit framerate in game, by vsync or hard cap

List goes on… Things you are experiencing have nothing to do with the game. Game is designed to utilize ALL resources available at its disposal, to provide you highest framerates possible on your hardware. It’s optimized quite well. Your hardware wil heat up as much as it needs to to display what game is demanding. Any game, not just Diablo 4 game.
I am yet to experience one single game crash with fenris error or whatever it’s called, I have not seen one yet. And framerates are excellent for my hardware - 5800X + 6800XT.

the amount of overlapping issues people have is no coincidence
maybe u got lucky here, but there is definitely something fundamentally wrong with the game

Demanding game has been released and since then peoples PC are heating up. Because they have to cope with increased demand. I see correlation here, that’s all. It’s illogical to blame a game for PC temperatures. If we were to allow that, then you could as well write on video editing software forums complaining that compressing a video is heating up your CPU, lol.

Tell me then, what you think it is?
Game is using your CPU as designed, meaning utilizing all resources it needs to give you smooth, as high as possible framerate which you requested. You are surprised because you haven’t seen a game utilizing resources to that extent before.

If you think what I am saying is not right, run prime95 and Furmark simultaneously and watch temperatures then. But please don’t go crying on Mersenne Prime95 forums about your CPU temperatures because you will be laughed at.

i mean gpu temp and usage going insane on vendor screens doesnt seem normal to me
this happens for people with all kinds of different hardware, and yes even high end hardware (console too i think?)
also people report issues where performance gets worse after a time because of vram issues, also on high end hardware, also no matter the settings, just takes longer on lower settings, reported multiple times

i dont have any cpu problems, but if u read through the forums a bit u see the same problems over and over again, rarely has anything to do with cpu to be fair

also people continously reporting that a patch made problems appear in the first place

i have no idea what is going on, but you are honestly delusional if u think there isnt something wrong with the game at this point

this is not my post, but trying to help certainly is appreciated
i was argueing against you saying there is nothing wrong with the game, which certainly is not true

also you saying it is his problem not the games, when people over and over again report issues after blizzard patched this game, where i wonder how u can be so certain of that

also when it comes to my issues, trust me i have tried a ton of stuff at this point, as have others with the same issues, nothing works

Cool, tell me please what is wrong with the game please.
Game is working for me, so whatever you say I will not be able to reproduce, which will kinda destroy your argument anyway…
I am playing on Ryzen 5800X + Radeon 6800XT. Ever overclocked CPU for a good measure. Still stable like a rock. Never had a Fenris crash.

i dont know what is wrong with the game, dont know why u want to defend it so bad when there is tons of people with the same issues.

im happy for u that u dont experience issues, others do though

again, this isnt my post

Sorry, my mistake. Still, you can reply to my latest (relevant) post if you like. Game is working for me, on Ryzen+Radeon, no crashes, no temperature spikes, no other problems. Therefore, can’t put everything in one jar stating that game is broken…

yea i get that, im basing my statement on what is happening since release of this game and on reading alot of it on the forums
people have the same problems, all kinds of different hardware, there is definitely something going on they need to fix
