As the title says I started the season with dust devil and loved it but got clapped (I had super mid gear) by tormented bosses so switched to bash. But after playing bash for a bit and getting a grandfather on my 3rd duriel I want to try twister with the crit bleed package and see if it can do pit 100. Just curious if anyone else has tried this or if ww is strictly better? Thanks
Wouldnt you want Rend or Rupture on a Bleed build?
I think Bash Bleed will heavily outperform a DD Bleed, since Bash hits so much harder and you need a high hit to scale the bleed from?
And WW would be even worse i think…
WW you can have 40% Base Damage as Bleed before Berserk Ripping. It already has a very high Crit Chance and works well with Crit Damage.
WW does not get modified by Attack Speed so you can focus purely on damage. You want to use a Ramas and a 1H Mace and go with Skullbreaker and a high Lucky Hit. Boost Concussion, grab Anemia etc. This would be instead of taking Rupture which converts Bleeds. Skullbreaker never removes the Bleeds.
Fun build and different.
Lunging Strike
Shouts x 2
Ground Stomp
WW
WoTB
Skullbreaker is useless on bosses. Clearing is typically never an issue, so you end up wasting an affix.
Yep, it is sad that CC does not register even though the Boss does not get CCed. There are so many conditionals and builds that just flat out do not work. Skullbreaker should apply any time a Stun is triggered or used, regardless if the target is stunned.
No bosses should just be susceptible to ALL forms of crowd control during the stagger phase.
That also. Stagger is such a weird mechanic how it works in Diablo 4. In Lost Ark, certain attacks generated Stagger, some more so than others and it the skill tool tips would tell you if it had a Stagger component and if it was Weak or Strong. Also had Weakpoint and Counter-Attack (way more depth than D4).
Diablo 4 sort of tried to copy this, but for all intents and purposes, had abandoned the mechanic because of how easily broken it was for Bossing with Frost Sorcs primarily obliterating Uber Lilith.
Stagger horribly in that you want multiple sources of CC to build Stagger and having a strong singular form of CC isn’t super effective for Bosses.
The problem is that a ton of damage and damage reduction is locked behind “Crowd Controlled” enemies. Having builds that do well for trash but suck for Bosses in this Season especially, is a no-go given the Boss timers, leading people away from really being able to use those builds.
Quite simply, the fix of treating it as-if the conditional buff or debuff was applied without the Boss being CCed is the fix. Say you Ground Stomp a Boss while it is Bleeding and you have Skullbreaker Aspect equipped (deals a portion of bleeding damage as direct damage when you stun an enemy), it would NOT be stunned but would trigger Skullbreaker. If your Stun last for 6 seconds, during that time any conditional damage that is boosted to “Stunned” enemies would be applied.
Likewise, Ancient’s Oath would give you the x50% Damage Bonus when you use Steel Grasp on a Boss.
If the game was a little more nuanced and balanced to where you could pick the type of encounters, that would work also. Considering The Pit is the only content that really matters, that is the problem.
They changed the wording on Ancient’s Oath to enemies hit by Steel Grasp, so it should work on bosses.
Does it not?
