"Hardcore/Grind style/Clan focused mmo'ers" opinion on D4

38 years old and have been online gaming since I was 16 + I play games that rely on people and not party matching mmo’s like WoW.

From EA start until now >>> lvl 1-75: Pretty good campaign. Skill build is straight forward but certainly amplifies your gear and paragon choices.
Gameplay feels good although mobs are pretty basic

lvl 75-90: loot is boring and extra unique drops are sold.
With enchanting as my only avenue for strength (besides checking 1000+ rares and more), it is immediately a tedious cycle of sell kit > enchant > very likely fail and repeat “dodge the explosion”.
WT4 vs enemies is mainly force thinking about “apply your damage and if mob dies does it explode, if no don’t move, if yes move (additionally if cc’d, cleanse and move)”

3 clannies helping you in a dungeon just makes the PvE way too easy, there should be punishments for dieing and I really don’t get that sense of challenge when you can wait for rez, port back to town and restock your pots and repair.
Overall though the PvE enjoyment is really low bar after the honeymoon phase of the game, where everything is made vunerable and gets blown up…if I make any Elite or Boss vulnerable it doesn’t crap itself and do potentially something cool to counter that…it just dies…

So anyway, I’m not a crazy completionist so the game is “complete” (grinding 90-100 and no exciting crafting or item enhance system???), I’m feeling overall I had an “ok” experience, Blizzard are feeling estatic because they got 100’s of millions of dollars and the cycle will repeat itself again…but I do hope there is a mega patch for s1 to fix the boredom and have clans do more (+ UI improvements, if this is meant to be a little bit of an MMO well the UI is just lacking so badly and only meant for console players it seems).

I wouldn’t rate Diablo 4 more than a 6/10.
I would like to rate it a 5 but they did do a good job on the theme and graphics.

In mmo terms, mechanically/UI/Guild activity/PvE/PvP to me this is like the super dog crap version of Black Desert Online but “at least there’s no p2w am I right???”.
So, I’m glad to be playing FF16 2moro to chill out for the pointless grinding merit of D4 and ye…this is like New World all over again, play it for up to a month and you’ll be questioning why you’re playing, a shame for a massive company like Blizzard…

As a hardcore/dedicated player this is the last game I will buy of theirs as I feel the companies direction is far too casual focused. Cya and have fun
(I will reply if any posts are constructive).
