Hardcore Players get first 2 weeks, then patch makes it Casual?

Alright,

There are lots of threads about how people like to play the game in different ways.

Some want more loot, some want less.

Some want harder fights, some want easier.

How about for the first 2 weeks of the season it’s all hardcore but without the death penalty. Casuals can play but the bosses are tuned extremely hard and loot is very rare.

So those players get 2 weeks of less loot, hard mechanical boss fights and so forth.

It will be their own 2-week race with ladders given they only have 2 weeks to make their build and kill all the bosses.

Can you kill all bosses tuned extremely hard and with less loot in under 2 weeks?

The ladder will show who did and who didn’t and how far you got. Next season you can try to improve on your previous final ladder position.

After two weeks a patch comes in that turns the game casual friendly.

Loot rains from the sky. Good GA 2,3,4 Loot yes even Mythics become easier than they are now, and all boss mechanics go bye bye till next season.

The ladder will remain but be turned off so you can only view it as it was once the hardcore race was over.

I know there is already a Hardcore in the game but as far as I know the only thing that has is Perma death. I’m suggesting without Perma death because it would likely be over tunned at the start, so we want to give the Devs time to find the right tunning for this 2-week period.

If it becomes popular the devs can always move this newly tunned “Hardcore” to replace the current Hardcore servers.

Just an idea, thought I would throw it out there because that’s always more fun.

After reading your post this actually sounds super fun, NGL

Add no grouping and no trading. I’d be up for it.

You had me at ladders…….give this man a job blizzard.

I approve this thread.

You should name it BLASTERS MODE

You sure they want harder fights?some of them already whining about boss immunity, look at their gears, all dupes and with billions gold that they said just earn buy selling good gears (it sounds weird actually, how the good gear (3GA) drop they choose to sell to buy another 3-4GA dupe)…especially unique with 3GA…most of their mythic was 1-2 GA tho…what they are saying always opposite with their action…

But i hope blizz look into your ideas…i just want to see that blaster really into blasters mode or …

So lock casual players out of the season for two weeks?
Considering they are the majority…yeah doubtful Blizzard will do this nor should they.

Ladder is as flawed as anywhere in this game until they address duping and RMT. Unless you meant everything would be SSF?

I’m all for harder more meaningful gameplay…but not this idea. It is just splitting the playerbase.

It is not that important what people want cause the game has everything already, what needs to happen is make everything make sense and get properly fixed

Fix the pit to be more varying and RNG therefore less boring in repetition (i.e. make it a “loot round” activity)
Fix dungeons to be bigger and a maze to make them a (optionally) “loot place” i.e. “instance” type of thing

Now I know that the “escalation” of NMDs kinda go against that “mold” but as long as they add “strongrooms” (or strongroom-like activity) all they need to do is have like several of them and rotate based on dungeon foliages (with a tad bit of inner extra RNG)

Also “endgame loop” is pointless completely and will make the game have no real reasonable context of doing things

The game has already 2 features that perfectly resemble the endgame in NMDs and Pits, just need to fix them and perhaps add an “extra level of complication” (optional) for T3/T4

They better add SSF/brutal mod (along with a couple of early-game fixes), those things alone will buy time instead of continue experimenting cause the game is not bad, it’s just that things in it are done in a very sub-optimal and “wrong” way

To clarify what I mean by “loot round” vs “loot place” (if interested), posted this:

Edit: ewww, OMG no

Terrible take, AT BEST case there need be 2 “realms”, and although that sounds absolutely super exciting (at least to me) I’d say it’s quite a bit of an overkill

Just fix the Pit and NMDs to intend them for a different type of “endgame”, that’s it

Hi Iris, I didn’t say to lock anyone out. Nothing stops casuals from playing.

Look I am a casual. I am not going to be ready to fight any bosses after week 1 or two of this season. I will still be working on my gear and build so what do I care if the bosses happen to be harder for those first two weeks if I am not going to fight them anyway.

But for hardcore blasters, people like streamers playing 12+ hours a day, it gives them that 2-week window to experience a HARD version of the season. It’s only 2 weeks.

However, I’ll celebrate after the two weeks are over and I see the Patch for the rest of the season TUNNED to Casuals rather than Hardcore. I may be in T2 or T3 by then, maybe.

Was just an idea, it’s almost a HARD season mechanic (2-weeks) within each SEASON mechanic (4-months). I think it can work, it’s worth testing in a PTR version at least.
