Hardcore Deaths

I would like to know the people’s thoughts about the possibility of when hardcore characters die, instead of being moved to the hall of fallen heroes, it goes to softcore (Eternal Realm).

By no means do I want to change the current hardcore, I just want to extend it so everyone can enjoy it without having to “waste” time.

The options are:
During the character creation, you have the option to tick a box saying: Dies forever.
When ticked: you can still play the existing hardcode.
When not ticked: You can play the hardcode, however in case you died your character will be moved to softcore (Eternal Realm).

You may wonder why I want such an option.

Well, I believe there are people besides me, who don’t play much or don’t have much time to play and still want to enjoy the hardcode, but if a misfortune happens, we can still continue enjoying the same character without having to start over.

What do you have to lose since “fake hardcore” lets you go softcore? You lose your stored items (well, it’s not like losing, it’s just that your dead character will be moved to softcore), and the stashed items will remain in hardcore.

What do you think?

Just play HC in Eternal, that is what I do.
Unless you are after achievements, then there is not much of a reason to play hc mode, unless you want access to the exclusive scroll and elixer, which only makes hc mode easier than Eternal

If you die from a disconnect in Eternal, it is up to you to count it or not, a very nice feature, no scroll required lol

LOL whatever you gotta tell yourself to cope with your cop out baby mode.

I definitely don’t like this idea. If that’s the case everyone would just only create hardcore characters since there’s no true punishment for dying. Why ever create a softcore character ever again, if knowing when you die on hardcore you just end up there anyways?

They have already dumbed down hardcore with scroll of escape and cheat death elixirs, adding that in would just completely abandon the whole punishing aspects of what hardcore is truly about.

I am an old Diablo vet, I beat Inferno HC with zero deaths, ran it a lot in Diablo2, I have no interest to do it again in Eternal lol, HC mode has always been just a way to prove to other players that you died or not. I need not prove it to anyone
What I suggesed to the op is a legit option to play hc within Eternal and always has been with any Diablo game

I’m a fan of the idea of death of a HC death simply moves the toon to a SC realm. I enjoy HC playstyle but I am no longer interested in losing my progress completely.

Once I’ve successfully ‘completed’ my HC playthrough I’d love to PVP til death and subsequent transfer to SC realm.

I prefer the characters being deleted. That’s the entire point. If you don’t want your character to disappear just play softcore and its just that simple.

If the character will still exist in any capacity it robs players of the thrill. They will always know in the back of their head there is a safety net protecting their character from permanent deletion in some capacity.

Except it’s not HC unless you ya know… actually play the hardcore mode. So once again…

LOL whatever you gotta tell yourself to cope with your cop out baby mode.

Why even play hardcore on d4? It isn’t really hardcore you get cheat death pots, insta tp scrolls and now a heart that makes you immune every 1.5minutes, nothing hardcore about it

Above post, your not playing hardcore either, no one on d4 is

Super bad noobish idea

Wow three hidden replies. Too bad your opinions don’t matter to me.
