Maybe I have it wrong and there is a different race for people who have a ps4 or a xbox 1, ps5, ect. Having a computer that can do 240 solid fps is a huge advantage. Not getting into expensive mice and keyboards. Then adding in people who have fiber, and people who live closest to the server. Not to mention with pc you could just create a macro that shuts the game down automatically if you are about to die. So getting a head start is meaningless compared to all that.
Pretty sure this is why logout times exist.
According to the post I read there is none. " Barick

There is a way to protect from disconnects. In the beta anyone who was D/C in combat has their character survive."
Were you trying to link some sort of concrete evidence or something? It didn’t work.
The whole thing is blown out of proportion with the mentality that people seem to find trendy today.
How many thousands of games have art contests and the top 3 artists win in-game prizes and/or collector’s items? Don’t hear anybody crying that it’s unfair, how some people are better at art than others and had more experience in their past lives to draw.
Even if I wanted to participate in such a thing, I’d fail. My circles usually end up being awkward polygons.
This HC contest wasn’t meant for most people, but tailored to a particular group and which everyone is welcome to participate in just like an art contest for a game.
It’s laughable and they don’t even get much out of it, but their username written on to a statue many of them will not see. ¯\ (ツ) /¯
Even if there is a log out timer, it doesnt negate anything I said, the log out timer or lack of one is meaningless, just like complaining some one who paid 20 bucks get 4 days head start.
its more like draw the act 4 boss of our game, first submissions win but these people got to see all the bosses 10 days earlier than the rest of you.
How hard is this to understand, just from your own beta weekends and server slam play through how much quicker did you hit 20 on the server slam compared to the first beta?
Someone playing through the acts and the world tiers for the 1st is always going to be much slower than Someone who has already done it.
You’re adding details to my example to suit your perspective.
No fan art contest every expected the contestants to draw a specific boss or place. At least I’ve never seen that.
If you consider yourself to be THAT good at gaming, then aim to be the top 500 and not the top 1000 (which you probably would not get to anyways).
There are only a handful of people who have this 10 day early access, cry me a river, if you think that those handful of people, is the only thing stopping you from being within the first 1000.
Also, there’s absolutely no guarantee every single individual who got early access will even care to participate in this contest. Many of them are literally reviewers for game news or guide creating.
All this whining sure makes it sweet to see how many will fail to succeed in this. I mean here you all are complaining about something so petty, instead of gaming, yet you consider yourself the hardcore gamers, who have the potential to be in the top 1000 of this contest. Really?!
The ones in the top 1000 probably didn’t even post on these forums to begin with.
i had to add details to your example because your example was stupid when compared to this contest.
Do you not see the difference? If you get 10 days extra to learn a bosses moves, what to avoid, what you can face tank, what one shots you etc you have a huge advantage over someone seeing that boss for the first time.
This is magnified by it being hardcore. Because you already know the cues before the attack, you have a better chance of survival, you dont need to watch the videos or read the tactics.
Simple example, though they nerfed it in server slam, that goat dude at the end of the quest chain where you had to carry the idol. That dude was an instant oneshot on my first character because i had no idea how hard he was when i went in there. I didnt die to him at all on any characters afterwards because i knew what to expect.
Repeat this across the world tiers etc and you’ll hopefully understand why its so much different to your art contest example.
Yea, Blizzard could lock the game at 30FPS, at 16:9 resolution and 200ping but instead they offer unfair advantages to people who bought better hardware and internet.
P2W!!
One, people are going through all sorts, kinds, types and methods that the game is unfair, unbalanced or Play to Win. Dealing Play to win, Blizzard has no control over what people do outside of the game. They can try to get rid of bots, etc. but how much of that time could be spent tweaking the game. Unfair or unbalanced is a viewpoint and rather difficulty to really quantify.
Two, one would presume that some safeguards are in place to avoid most of the problems. However, there is already one person who has stated that they have the first two weeks in June off. So, they can game much more than I can. There is no way I am getting four straight days off in June. It is one of my industry’s busiest times. That aside, there are people who are already retired, independently wealthy, etc. that have the time to do… take your pick. Probably, that is why the number is so high (first 1,000). That way, all of the above people are out and regular folks might actually make the cut.
Yep I get to play when ever I want, PAY 2 WIN haha. So heres what we are gonna do to fix this, every one can only play 20 hours a month, the resolution shall be locked at 720 20 fps so no one has a unfair advantage. Also you many only use a xbox or playstation controller. ITS THE ONLY WAY. Also when you log into diablo you agree to download a virus that detects any kind of boting, cheat, or the like, and if it detects any it sends 1.9 volts to the cpu.
