Grinning labyrinth - Can't continue to the next zone

I just got stuck in a the Grinning labyrinth and can’t advance past the second door because I have already killed the 2 mobs required for it to open. What happened was as follows:

1 - I entered the dungeon
2 - I explored one path out of 2, in which I saw a door that was closed but could “bypass” through a different way
3 - I continued on and cleared all the mobs exploring, because I found a second closed door
4 - After not being able to continue because I didn’t find anything else, I went back to the original second path I’m talking about, and was able to complete the first objective, which made the first door open
5 - Objective changed asking me to kill 2 mobs (that I have already killed) and the second door won’t open

Feels like the dungeon should be designed to force you to kill the 2 things you have to kill to open the first door, then kill the 2 mobs to open the second, but somehow there is a bug in how the dungeon is generated.

I have saved a marked screenshot of the dungeon layout marked but sadly can’t paste it here.

Happy to send it if you need more information about this or whatever.

Same thing just happened to me, bypassed the first door and I killed the 2nd objective mobs before it was the objective.

Same issue here. Sadly, no current workaround I can find other than to exit and try again later

Also happened to me. :frowning:

Just happened to me as well, still has not been fixed. Do they even read these? Haha

Just got hit by this as well.

Same thing here. Need to fix this… I want my Grim Favors. :frowning:

Same here. Happening as I type.

I am having the same problem.

Can confirm. I’d missed one of the two things needed for the first objective, wound up going to the end, wound up killing everything, and now the dungeon is bugged once I went back and went down the one pathway I’d missed for the first objective.

Either needs a redesign to prevent the player from being able to sequence break, the monsters need to be set to respawn if it detects they were already killed, something like that.

same for me, seems like this wasn’ tested.

Same thing happened to me as well. Didn’t go down one of the two paths it showed me and ended up clearing the further end of it searching for the Demonic Corruptions. Went back to the beginning path I skipped and found the first objectives. Went back to the end and nothing was there for me to kill. Definitely needs a fix.

Same thing here. Feels like this needs more traction as it’s been bugged since release.

same, missing 2 mobs. i think they are exactly the same 2 mobs that spawned INSIDE the last gate, which requires killing everything to open…

Have the same issue. ‘Kill the two grinning fiends’ but door is sealed and I killed everything in the dungeon area.

Can confirm, still happening. I had no idea I’d killed the mobs prematurely though I DID wonder about why they made it so I could come to the backside of a locked door? It was too late, though, for me, as those mobs are dead and not appearing, and I now can’t complete the dungeon.

Edit: interesting followup.
OK so I had the Ogai questline when i went in and it messed up. after I could no longer go forward, i (E)xited the dungeon, turned the quest in, and then I was like well i wonder if i can go in and the grinning demons will be up? WHen I went back in, the whole dungeon was reset, and here is the key point: there was NO WAY to break it again. It was now completely linear and there was no way to get behind that door and kill the grinning demons before completion of the other parts.
My supposition is that having the Ogai quest might have something to do with it??
