GPU Memory leak not fixed

Hello,

I think that the GPU Memory leak was not fixed by the 1.1.1 patch.

When I launch the client, the memory usage is around 8000 MB and after some time the GPU memory goes to more than 15 000 MB, I experience stuttering, mainly in cities and I have to restart the client or change the in-game graphical settings.

My GPU: Radeon 6800 XT

My 6750 XT is running like a pro now.

But press M and I still cracking a bit

Are you running into actual issues like the game crashing or stuttering?

Using more VRAM over time is totally normal as you move around as you’re loading more assets and textures from the various zone palettes.

That doesn’t indicate a memory leak.

If you crashed or got stutters after the RAM is allocated then I would agree with you. I’m not saying that the issue is resolved or not but your testing and result posted mean nothing specifically.

I have a 24GB VRAM card and it was allocating over 18GB of VRAM before the patch and 17GB post-patch.

Allocation vs required vs memory leak are all 3 different things.

Yes, I experience stuttering, in towns mainly :frowning:

6700xt also having issues with this. Was counting on it to be fixed this patch.

Hmmm bummer, what resolution and what texture quality? I think I read Ultra textures do have issues with stuttering on anything <20GB.

Also are you running the game off an SSD? Preferably NVMe? The town stutters could be due to the fact there’s so many other PCs around with different armor sets, so it may have to go to disk for those if they weren’t pre-cached in VRAM.

4090 24gm I9 24 core 64gb Ram, runs like a game from 1995. Is this how they made the game more like d2?

New Patch, no change since BETA !
Rx 7900 XTX
24go Vram used before patch and after 1.1.1 + random stuttering in game
same issue with different Drivers version:
23.4.3 / 23.5.1 / 23.5.2 / 23.7.2 / 23.10.23.03
Good Job Blizzard, again . . .

edit :
AMD 5950x + 64GB 3800Mhz
installed on Corsair MP600 core 4TB M.2 NVMe PCIe x4 Gen4

you guys tried that fix ?

Thanks but only a D4 issue, other games work great on my RIG

and the answer is NO for all
stuttering is present without Tabbing

Readme of your tool :
Here’s a list of symptoms caused by MPO (a feature added by Microsoft a few years back):

  • Stutters when tabbing out of games (multitasking)
  • Driver crashes/System hangs when using hardware accelerated browsers
  • Driver crashes/System hangs when trying to stream
  • Anything fullscreen would cause huge stutters and can lead to crashes and hangs
  • Screen flickering nonstop

I like it when one person creates a program trying to fix the mistakes of several corporations.

it actually worked for me :grinning:

Knowing Blizzard, they will probably ban people who used this system modification
and steal the idea to announce it as their own.

The game runs faster by using your VRAM. It just had to leave some in reserve. The game is using a bit less of mine now. The “video memory leak” was a bit more complicated than “OMG, ma vram!”

It’s not a memory leak. It’s because you are loading every player’s stash.
