GPU Crash with 4080

When I started the Server Slam weekend, I did not make any Settings changes, and everything was running okay, with some minor rubberbanding. But after leaving the first village in the prologue, my GPU (Nvidia 4080) suddenly crashed. I had had similar issues with other games due to driver issues, which is why I had stayed on 531.58 . When the crash occurs, there is a notification in the Event Viewer regarding “nvlddmkm” .
I had had crashes in the first beta weekend, too, but they were just crashes to desktop. And then I remembered that the reason I had crashes to desktop was because the Settings were allowing–by default–refresh rates higher than what my monitor can handle, in this case 150 Hz, even though I think my max is 120 Hz. I have now lowered my refresh rate to 60 Hz to be on safe side. Since that worked first two weekend, hopefully no more GPU crashes this weekend.

Sounds like you should DDU your drivers and install the newest ones fresh.

The fact you are getting refresh options your monitor doesn’t support is a gigantic red flag you need to fix and has nothing to do with Diablo.

Last two betas I had similar issues with high fps. kcthebrewer - you can always bypass refresh/fps by turning off vsync so I kinda doubt that’s the issue.

For mine specifically - my monitors support up to 240hz but I had to lower them to 60hz and set FPS to match to keep the game from crashing. It would appear that the game just doesn’t like being run at high FPS for some people or on specific hardware. I doubt it’s across the board or there would be way more people reporting the issue.
