Just equipped an item that increases the thorns golems inherit from the Necro and saw something.
Bug 1, in the stats screen, there is a stat labeled “Warrior Thorns”, although the description reads: “Your Golem inherits x% more thorns from you then normal”. Shouldn’t it read “Golem Thorns”?
Bug 2, it seems that the total shown in the description is also wrong. I’m using the Bone Golem with the thorns improvement, which should inherit 50% of my thorns. I equipped a ring that give +10% thorns, which should increase his thorns to 60% or something greater than 50% if the % is not added as I expect it does. However, the total amount showing in the description is just 40% of my thorns.
I don’t know if the actual damage is correct, but the description is wrong.
For skeleton mages and warriors (defenders with the thorns improvement) the total seems to be correct.

Try changing the golem to the other bone one (the one that shed corpses) see if the tooltip is the same, it might just be showing the base 30+the 10 from your ring, and not accounting for the choice you made of second bone golem with +20% more thorns, that’s just my guess.
I’ll say tooltips in this game are known to show misleading incorrect info sometimes, but I can’t say if your damage is actually working or not, there’s just too much jank in this game right now tbh.

Yeah. It’s the same value with other golems. It’s not accounting the book of the dead bonus.
Can’t really test if the damage being done is with the book of the dead bonus, but I’m assuming it isn’t. The defender was bugged the same way prior to the last update and they fixed it. They seem to forgot that the bone golem works just the same…

Tooltip Category: Warrior Thorns
- Shows Golem Thorns
- Shows accurate number for Golem Thorns
- Does not show accurate number for Warrior Thorns
In other words, the label Warrior Thorns is not correct, it should be Golem Thorns. I’d post a screenshot but of course you can’t attach images.
Verified (via tooltip that is not named correctly) that Bone Golem option 2 does NOT increase thorns to 50%.
My current Thorns: 13,757
Thorns with Iron (or any) Golem:
- Your Golem inherits 5.0% more Thorns than you from normal.
- Its total Thorns inherited from you is now 4,820.
Thorns with Bone Golem (option 2) also shows 4,820.
Thorns with Skeletal Mages:
- Your Skeletal Mages inherit 4.8% more Thorns from you than normal.
- Their total Thorns inherited from you is now 7,782.
As you can see, the thorns scaling all appears accurate but the bone golem option does not increase thorns. It’s still mislabeled as Warrior Thorns too.
The fact that we have 3 seperate affixes for our minions to inherit thorns in and of itself shows how little this was play tested. It should all be one affix “minions inherit +% more thorns”. Honestly though, thorns has such low scaling that I think they should receive 100% and the upgrades should just be increases along with a single affix that says minions inherit more thorns. Giving us over 100% scaling is the only way thorns will ever be viable outside of doing level 50 - 100 sigils in an hour plus.

The only fact that they seperated thorns accross 3 affixes is already telling so much.
Yeah, it is also why minion attack speed scales at 30%. The code for minions is horrible. They created a different minion type for warrior, mage, and golem, but they are all different in function. So while one thing works for warrior it doesn’t work for mage and it’s the same with golem. Like shadow mages still doing physical a month after release? Warrior inherit thorns not working? Attack speed having 30% scaling from minion specific sources? Summon damage being its own affix? Kalan’s Edict? Defenders not actually getting 10%+ thorns until last patch? Spiked armor only giving 30% of 30% of weapon damage? Needleflare aspect still not working on minions? Like who approved having the code done by a 3rd party in India?

The problem should not be that, minions can be carrior/mages or golem type and still be minion and having effects applying.
Indians do really good videos on Youtube actually about programming, that’s a bit racist and so innacurate.
My best bet would be that they rushed in and didn’t test properly everything that is non standard damage/interaction. DOT were bugged, minions were bugged. Lucky hits is too (bone prison).
They just rushed it and sent it up for release. Anyway, players will test it for them, right?
The worst of it all is that they did 3 open beta tests and released the game filled with bugs nonetheless…
If this next season they don’t do some serious changes in gameplay, they’re gonna lose a lot of players. And I don’t mean nerf or boost skills or aspects, but just make the game do what it says it does.
I increased my warriors damage from a plus 10% to 140% from level 60 to 80 and their damage increased from 600 to 700…
I just want to be able to believe the numbers the game shows me. Now I don’t even trust if the barriers have the amount of HP the game says it has. Having 30% damage reduction really reduces the damage by 30%? Don’t know, but it sure doesn’t seem like it.
Yeah, there’s so much stats and numbers and the game doesn’t tell you anywhere how exactly it works. Getting hundreds of % skill boost and I don’t know how much really it’s adding.
The difference between additive and multiplicative isn’t even in the game. That’s just random numbers being put up on your screen and deal with it.
And we don’t even get a dummy to test damage. Such a joke

I can confirm the following:
I am running a minion build and I have thorns given by 2 pieces of armour to both skeleton warriors and golem. The profile tooltip does not show the bonus thorns given to Golem, only to the skeleton warriors.
If you look carefully (or at least on PS5) it will show Skeleton Warriors twice, once for skeleton warriors, and again for the golem - the title is just wrong. I really wish I could post or link a screenshot to show what I mean but of course you can’t. Is there a more effective place to post about bugs?

I tested last night, this is what I found.
The Golem is effectively applying the thorns it’s the tooltip within the character’s profile that is wrong just as you suggested.
I am on PS5 as well.
