Going to try a different ISP due to the CONSTANT lag

Severe lag, only in THIS game, for past 10 days ish now. I’ve tried different things.

Going to try a different ISP. If that doesnt work then it’s a lost cause. I’ve been dissapointed that blizz hasnt seemed to offer any support or advice on how to address these issues. I’ve been supporting their games since the original warcraft, not that they care.

My favorite part of the lag is walking into a fight and it being the equivalent of a 2 year old picking a fight in a biker bar…

Changing ISP won’t resolve the issues with Blizzard’s servers.

That is an opinion.

I don’t have any problems with blizzard servers, so therefore they don’t always have a problem and a different ISP might work.

No problems here with Lag/Latency… Europe, Vienna, Magenta ISP
Game shows 60-80ms usually

Where are you located? There are tons of complaints about ping spiking and causing lag for those of us connected to US central.

I don’t play during peak hours and for the last month I’ve been experiencing lag, it wasn’t like this on release. No issues with any other game whatsoever. I’m guessing they were using the AWS cloud for release and that’s no longer the case, hence these widespread lag issues of late.

Obviously you haven’t been following my connection thread then:

-For everyone having connection issues of various types: UPDATE 7-6-23

Otherwise you would know.

Hopefully I’ll find out today if changing the ISP solves the issue or not. And if it doesnt then I’ll probably just uninstall diablo and install Balders Gate 3, because at that point I tried everything. Only reason I’m trying so hard is because my wife is/was enjoying the game and I’d like very much to enjoy it with her. Once she gives up on it, it’s a lost cause.

I’m kinda frustrated that blizzard doesnt seem to be doing anything about it. Forcing an internet connection is the worst part of it, we’d be happy playing on a LAN or something. They’ve focused so much on hacking they forgot about fun

Try disabling cross-play. Do it from the character selection screen. Should help a bit.

initial attempt with 2nd isp after work was a failure. no lag for a bit but then crash to desktop for us both. Look, it’s a game. I shouldnt have to be tech support for something i spent this much money on between my wife and i.

I’ll try again tomorrow. But honestly, I’m just waiting for her to give up on it at this point. Blizzard isnt doing anything about it apparently. I will remember this the next time they want my money though.

Curse you Blizzard. May the lag you suffered unto me be manifest in your own befuddled clueless corporate public and very entertaining litigious implosion. Just give us back offline and local network games again. I want to play a game with my family and friends, not compete in the olympics. I could care less if someone cheats, I dont want to play with them anyways. At this point, I cant even play this pile of garbage.
