Goblin Event - Suggestions and Farming Locations

Struggling to find goblins? Finding a goblin already in Escape? Here’s a few suggestions and locations I’ve found to be the most rewarding!

First off the “bug?” or issue with finding a goblin already in its escape (which makes it unkillable) is due to Cross-Play I’ve found. Diablo 4 is build on phases to reduce server stress. Sometimes, if a person engaged a goblin or a goblin spawned in a weird way - it will spook, run, and you find it escaping thinking OH YAY! Goblin.

Turning Cross-Play off fixes this issue.

Now for locational farming of goblins. Turning cross-play off does a few things. Not only does it fix the issue above but it also reduces the competition for goblins. The best location I’ve found in the last 3 Goblin events has been in Nahantu.

More specifically Restless Canopy and Five Hills. This has two bonuses.

  • Very large population of mobs that respawn rather quickly
  • Greed Shrine maximization due to large mob population

I highly recommend these locations when under a Headhunt because it allows you to double up on Tree of Whisper tasks, Shrine + Cleaning Pyre (if you’re lucky), and you are able to collect lots of Restless Rot which can be turned in for what you need.

These events to some might seem like a “fail”, however, it just requires a lil bit of innovation.

Now you can run NMD’s, Rootholds, and Tributes but I’ve found them to be less goblin populated than the above mentioned.

I would also utilize Subo as your main Mercenary for his track mob ability. This makes it easier to plan which direction to go in order to get higher mob kills to spawn more goblins.

I have tested other regions and honestly, this has been the most rewarding methodology thus far. For me at least!

Please note that these are not 100% guaranteed but based on my own testing. I was able to complete the goblin event VERY quickly following this methodology

Happy Hunting!
