Hello, I’m a d4 player whose first game into the Arpg genre was d4 and I would like to give feedback to a certain human who makes the majority of decisions for the direction of diablo. In the most respectful way possible, nobody is as polite as me, nobody, that human in question seems to have a a deep seething grudge for the other games in the genre, in particular, with a developer that has many humans who once worked with said human. I would like to know why such a grudge exists to a point where the human being feels compelled to tweet “Diablo-like” because a competitor found success in their first weeks of early access. I would also like to know why the human being feels so offended that they would never introduce mechanics that are even remotely similar to mechanics from competitors to the point they feel Diablo is “above” others. That stubbornness to never be inspired by the competition is exactly what holds this game back from being a good arpg. The unwillingness to not try new kinds of mechanics that are not just killing monsters is what bothers gamers of all available time frames.
The aforementioned leader of Diablo will ruin the future of Diablo franchise and the current iteration of Diablo if they continue to do the same thing they’ve done to attempt to keep players around. I am just an example of what is to come. Even gamers who have just one hour per week to play will eventually become sufficient enough where they can level their character to p250 in two sessions. Stop thinking a once giant of a game genre can’t be inspired by competitors, especially your biggest one. Respawn Entertainment came in the br space and dominated while Treyarch and other devs started to take ideas from them. Respawn then decided to do the exact same thing and brought a mechanic into Apex Legends that was in Call of Duty and Fortnite. They are still a big name in the shooter genre 6 years later and continue to be inspired by other devs while new devs are also inspired by them. Stop being bitter, learn from your competition and improve the game for everybody not just casuals or you will not even see posts from someone like me because they care that much. Eventually, nobody will even care enough to comment complaints about the game and that’s what you should fear most.
