So with Glyphs like Executioner that say “while wielding” does that mean that particular weapon has to be used for the skill or simply equipped? Meaning, could I have a polearm equipped but all my skills use a hammer and I still gain the benefits?

You can test this out yourself. Unequip all your weapons. Then use the weapon specify. Check the damage numbers. Now equip a different weapon in the same slot to test out the numbers.
Exactly, it counts if you use the weapon and NOT just equip
I don’t know for sure because I haven’t tested, but I’d imagine you have to use the actual weapon, otherwise glyphs like this:
ambidextrous - * You deal x8% increased damage while Weilding One-Handed Weapons.
wouldn’t make much sense because you always have one-handed weapons and it would just read “you deal x8% increased damage”
Every glyph is wielding… so you have to use the skill and that specific weapon to gain the bonuses
