Glyph leveling curve is too steep

In my opinion, glyph level 100 is not easy to get even with infinite time.

I tested what probabilities you get for updating a glyph:

  • Pit level 20 and more above glyph level: get multiple updates
  • Pit level +10 to +19: 100 % chance
  • Pit level +7 to +9: 90 % chance
  • Pit level +0 to +6: 70 % chance
  • Pit level -1: 55 % chance
  • Pit level -2: 40 % chance
  • Pit level -3: 25 % chance
  • Pit level -4: 10 % chance
  • Pit level -5: 5 % chance
  • Pit level -6 to -10: 1 % chance
  • Pit level -11 and lower: 0 % chance

I hope there are no mistakes in my list.

The problem lies in the negative levels.
To level a glyph to 100, you can do a pit 90 for a 1 % chance.
Or you can do a pit 95 for a 5 % chance.

It is far easier to respec your build into a meta build, farm every item you need for this build, run pit 100 and get all your glyphs to 100 and now you can respec into the build you really want to play.
Or you can give up and not get your glyphs to 100.

I think the official line is, that Pit 100 should be the ceiling.
Not a hard cap, but that’s what good players should be able to do with S-tier builds.
But we need some wiggle room for not having the perfect gear, not playing the best builds and I would guess 20 tiers should be our wiggle room for that.

So I want to suggest a less steep curve:

  • Pit level > 0 as is
  • Pit level -1 to -3: 55 % chance
  • Pit level -4 to -6: 40 % chance
  • Pit level -7 to -10: 25 % chance
  • Pit level -11 to -15: 10 % chance
  • Pit level -16 to -20: 5 % chance
  • Pit level -21 to -30: 1 % chance
  • Pit level -31 and lower: 0 % chance

If you can finish Pit 80 or a bit lower, you could still, in theory, get to level 100 glyphs, but it will take a long time.
If you can finish Pit 90, you can finish your glyphs quite fast.
If you can finish Pit 100, there is no change for you.

Keep in mind, that this Season not only the Spiritborn is way OP with most of his builds, nearly all other classes’ best builds are permanent overpower builds and need to be adjusted.

Overpower is giving us the biggest non-bugged multiplier in the game, while it is possible to overpower every time you cast your main skill. If you can play only very few builds and all are build around the same overpower mechanic, you have very limited choices.

With some nice builds, you will not even get to Torment 4.
We need some big adjustments in power levels, but we also need some wiggle room for glyph leveling, to adjust for build strength variance.
