I believe some attention is needed for the globes we pickup in the tower. The pickup radius is very small and our pets don’t pick them up for us, which requires us to more often than not need to backtrack and pick them up. This is already noticeable on hit based builds and will feel even worse on DoT based builds. A few possible options to make this feel better and not break the flow of combat.
- Drop the globes directly on top of us when the monster(s) that spawn them die.
- Increase pickup radius by a large margin. (This is the bare minimum I feel)
- Allow our pets to pick up the orbs. (Least preferred but a compromise between 1/2)

This was a problem with progress orbs in Diablo 3 for years and years. Endless complaints. They didn’t address it for almost 10 years. Then, one season, they added the Altar of Rites, a new progression system with cool little upgrades to earn/chase. One of those was, “Automatically Pick Up Progression Orbs Within 60 Yards.” Boom, problem solved.
So I expect this with D4. We’ll suffer for 10 years manually picking these up, then just before D4 goes end-of-life they’ll do a final season with something that has QoL for orb pickups. And in the meantime, we’ll all complain, and the devs will ignore us
They designed the orbs to be annoying ON PURPOSE. Some of the same devs from D3 work on D4. They aren’t dumb. They KNOW what they are doing by making the orbs purposefully annoying to interact with.

This is exactly why I am bringing it up now so we can try and cut the head off the proverbial snake.
