The leader boards need to be global so we can compare how players do in ALL regions. I remember there existed a 3rd party leader boards for Diablo 3, and literally 99% of the top players were from China. When Diablo 4 returns to China, I want to see if it becomes true again.
Sure. We can make our pretend leaderboards global if you wish.

I hope there will never be Leaderboards like in Diablo 3. We never had them in Diablo 2, just a race to level 99 and thats it.

Those are called bots and is why leaderboards don’t matter at all, ie Elon musk just proved that in poe2, isn’t just d4 any game with leaderboards

Gauntlet was the official Leaderboard but decimated by snapshot and cheating… and lazyness.
Do you really want this type of Leaderboard for the Pit? Dominated by cheaters this season? Like the two previous season?

Leaderboards are meaningless and pointless metric…for all realms. If there were leaderboards for hardcore only, then yes I am more impressed.
Then again, still does not prevent some loser like Elmo Musk to just hire someone to boost their toon to the top.

A ton of players are asking for a leader board, and I’m sure Blizzard will implement one because Diablo 3 had a leader board too.
However, unlike Diablo 3’s official leader board, I hope Blizzard implements a GLOBAL leader board so we can compare builds and compete with the top players all around the world. Diablo 3 had regions like Americas, but Diablo 4 does not. In Diablo 4, I can and do regularly play with a friend from Indonesia even though I’m from the USA, so why should we be on separate leader boards?
Leaderboards just open a whole new can of worms of tears and complaints, everyone above you is a cheater lolz (see d3 forums). They brought nothing of value to d3 except botters. Im pretty close to the point where I couldnt care less what Blizz does, but LBs are not a wise choice for now. Maybe a while down the road when they have a decent base game (a few MORE years lol??), but just too much lacking for them to add LBs. Just going to show the massive disparity between classes and builds, but blizz and co love making poor choices. So many other ways to liven up this game, and in my personal opinion LBs are not one.
With that said, Im not against them, but they will not influence my decisions to play this game or not, I prefer to see some real endgame content vs epeen boards, as new, challenging content will surely draw me back vs LBs

Thats not a Leaderboard, once you reach 99 first no one can take you from the first spot. A Leaderboard is constantly dynamic

By what definition does a leader board need to be constantly dynamic?
The Merriam-Webster dictionary defines it as:
: a large board for displaying the ranking of the leaders in a competitive event (such as a golf tournament)
Even the example given, golf, it’s entirely possible to get a hole for every hole, and it’s impossible to do better than that, so it’s no longer dynamic.
we shld hv leadeboard for eveything in the map…it’s like Diablo Olympic
