They are so desperate for new users, they are giving the game away free. Not from this guy!
No, theyâre not giving it for free.
Itâs a trial only.
You know, because the player population is dwindling.
One could argue they are allowing a free trial due to poor sales. Although a free trial with a level cap of 25 (or whatever it is) wonât be enough for people to explore even half of the game, maybe 1/64th of the game at best.
So if this is what you mean by âfreeâ then yes, itâs a âfreeâ trial.
Blizzard knows that the DLC is overpriced and saw few sales. Now they are desperately offering a 25% discount. I think Blizzard didnât understand that the game itself is too bad and thatâs why it didnât sell well.
Do you have the numbers from Blizzard I would like to read that report, thank you in advance.
The Steam list shows that when the Diablo 4 expansion arrived it had a player population of 25,000. A month later, that population dropped to less than 9,000 players. Doesnât that tell you much? That number reflects the gameâs poor situation.
And if theyâre offering discounts so soon after the release, itâs because sales were bad.
Most Diablo players do not use steam and other Diablo titles went on discounted sale shortly after release.
I believe D2R was on sale 2 months after launch I was PO because I pre-purchased it.
Blizzard servers share with Steam.
Steam numbers only show you players playing the game through steam. Steam numbers do NOT show how many people are actually playing the game overall. Steam does not show you blizzard server numbers.
Thats the point Avalon is trying to get across.
Steam metrics are only the end all be all for games exclusively on steam. 9-10 million copies sold on release yet steams max players for diablo 4 all time is 55k. So get that steam comparison crap outa here lol. I am not saying the game is in a great state but lets be fair about it.
yey, good news! the player base drop improved by a colossal 2% over the weekend, from -85% to -83%!
Blizzard doesnât give official numbers but sites like activeplayer estimate around 200,000 players in the last hour and 3.5 million over the last 30 days. Remember, not everyone is playing in the same realm or region.
Itâs down quite a bit from its initial high after launch but those are still fairly decent numbers. More important to Blizzard is theyâve been pulling in around $10 million / month in cash shop sales (cosmetics, platinum, battle pass). Theyâre not losing money on this product. The sales are just sales. Most are planned way in advance around holidays.
OP shut up! Them allowing people to try SB for free is legit nice, youâre a salty knuckledragger. This is a business, black friday is here of course they want people to buy the xpac so they allow people to play the new class⌠no brainer! Just admit you would be a terrible CEO and call it a day!
please do your research before typing in what you think are facts.
No, Blizzard servers do not share with Steam servers because Steam and Battle.net are separate, unaffiliated platforms. Battle.net licenses cannot be transferred or exchanged for Steam versions.
However, some Blizzard games are available on Steam, including Overwatch 2. Cross-play is also available for some Blizzard games, including Call of Duty, Hearthstone, Diablo Immortal, Diablo IV, and Overwatch 2.
You can unlink your Battle.net account from Steam, Xbox Live, Playstation Network, or Nintendo Switch at any time. To do this, you can:
- Log in to your Connections in your Account Management page
- Click the Disconnect button next to the console you want to unlink
Game (D4) is falling apparat due bad business/developing ideas so they try many business tricks right now to hook new players. Some of them works some not. The closer to PoE2 the more crazy ideas they will get.
lol is it your first time seeing free trial games ? seriously where have you been ?
Woow! Big boi! Refused a free trial!
Where do i line up for autograph?
Man, the blame Blizzard is getting is really getting out of handsâŚ
Also, why should anyone care if you play trial or not?
And yes, âtrialsâ were always free. Itâs not only Blizzard doing it. Yet they are getting all the hate!
Common sense is not so commonâŚ
