These one shot mobs like the corpse bow, the ghosts with homing nukes and such that mostly attack you off screen with one shot Attks need to go.
There is nothing challenging about such bull pucky.
This has been mentioned to death and the dev team acknowledged it too… but still an issue.
Ok, done ranting lol. And yes, I just got off screen, one shot by a corpse bow.
Just once? 6 of my last 7 deaths were off screen corpse bow 1 shots. Then I logged off.
Yeah… same. It’s annoying. Mostly I carry on but this last one was particularly abrupt and nasty lol.
And then they rez you like a million miles from where you died. Which does nothing to help the frustration from getting one shot.
Dev: Working as intended.
I’m curious what NMD tier are you guys running to get one-shot and your class? I’ve only ever played druid but I stick to a comfortable tier level and only get a chunked a bit.
Was in an 85. Can kill stuff easily and survive pretty well otherwise. lvl 100 necro 7k armor 11k health.
go play a sorc to 100 and come back
One way to resolve this just lessen the damage it does. Give you enough time to recognize that there’s corpse bow.
So everytime it hits you it will stack damage. If it hits you 4th time, then 1 shot mechanic will work
Or let it be as is but if you kill it you get higher chance of getting an Uber Unique like 10%
As a necro the easiest way to deal with them is either turn them away from you, or use tendril to move them away and in view.
I use tendril all the time to grab the ones out of view, turn them around and burn them up before they ever get to hit me.
These guys aren’t any stronger than blowflies aborting their babies in your face.
Or the red ghosts who charge up that electricity which has killed me THROUGH obstacles.
One must keep moving and prioritize these guys.
The Corpse Bow is audible enough to hear it setup a shot, so when you hear it, just start moving and when you can, just focus it.
Also, build some armor on your character, don’t only focus on damaging stats. There are videos of people complaining about enemies that one hit them, but when you see their build, everything is focused on having them deal damage and barely any stats for defense. Even their total health is low.
The community asked for more density, that means more corpse bow spawn chances.
Glad the devs are listening
Enemies like these are supposed to make you use your brain when playing the game, learn positioning, move diagonally, dodge or teleport. Get defensive affixes. Allocate barrier skills. Use defensive mechanics.
They are important monsters to break the zombie grind loop.
I wish there were more monsters, enemies and bosses like these.
Learn to play, sorry. And ofc, please stop whining
Bruh, what big brain plays you going to do, when they spawn off screen and one shot you.
The games input delay and server response time, make skillful plays non existent and even core combat mechanics like dodge break.
There is zero counter play. Higher NM, you cant stack enough defense to survive the first arrow unless you get a dodge proc and ther server registers it or you are playing class with a huger Barrier. The only skilled counterplay comes after your first death, when you know that it is there.
Due to the server response time, you can hard CC and daze them, and they still get arrow off. What big brain play you think you are doing for that?
Read. You DON’T need to do big brain plays at all. It’s diablo 4 ffs, it’s no path of exile where you have to use some of your brain to play. All you have to do, is walk in a different direction. Like a mouse in a labyrinth.
Just get good.
lmao, you know that corpse bow can hit you more than 2 screens away. Even at 200% movement speed you can not out run the arrow. You don’t i-frames in evade or movement skills, unless you proc a dodge and it registers with the server. Then there is the fact that evade does not always go in the direction of your mouse. Evading can often put you into the arrows path.
There is no getting good, skillful counter play, or anything. Its a binary problem.
Well i still don’t see any problem with these monsters.
Never had any problem.
They do a lot of damage, but that’s fine.
From my casual player perspective, they are fine.
If you say you can’t get good, i think it might be an unsolvable skill issue from your part.
Maybe it’s just not the game for you.
Try cookie clicker maybe?
or something easier.
They don’t need to remove the corpse bow, I like them. Just change them. Cut the damage in half, add knockback that can pin you to a wall. They can still be challenges without being deaths from nowhere.
I am yet to be killed by something not on my screen, or I am just blind. Never got hit by anything not visible where it is coming from.
I have a renewed wariness of them since 1.1.1 cause skeleton packs typically have 3 of them now instead of 2. That was noticeable. Again, they can be tuned, deletion seems to be a kneejerk reaction.
- Distant should sting
- nearby should hurt
- close should knockback
