How many people think Fergusson genuinely didnt know the spirit born would be this strong? Or that he always knew but wanted them overpowered to help sell the expansion?
I don’t know who Fergusson is…truth be told.
Not shocking that they didn’t know that SB would do so much damage.
100% known. He knows what he’s doing. He took a poll on Twitter and then announced that everyone is having fun so they’re not going to change anything.
Real leadership would see that poll with 36.9% being utterly unhappy and NOT having fun as a huge indication that something needs to change. Instead he sees it as a win because the vote landed higher in favor of it. 36.9% is still a big number.
Should they nerf? Na. Fix broken interaction? Yes. Buff other classes? Absolutely, even if the buffs still don’t put other classes/builds/skills on par with Spiritborn, it would still mean more of that 36.9% vote having more fun also. Even with Spiritborn remaining top dog.
36.9% said fix it. never said they werent having fun. strange read in to the poll
Given that the bug for SB that WAS fixed was reported in the PTR and talked about before launch, I’d say good chance. They chose to launch it that way anyways. They knew that.
Also given the fact that on the campfire, they said “we’re excited to see what things people break this season”
Also given the fact that they know it’s broken now and refuse to fix it like a proper gaming company would.
There’s just no way they didn’t know. And then even if they did, what does it matter? They refuse to act like adults and fix it. So does it matter? I’m not even a path fan, but another ARPG cannot POSSIBLY come fast enough. This was the last IP blizzard had tying me to them. I might actually be able to delete the bnet app after I find a new ARPG home. Something that if you asked me 10 years ago would happen I would have told you you’re nuts…It’s amazing how hard even an icon of an entire industry can catapult itself into the pavement in just a few years just by employing a handful of wrong individuals and making too many mistakes.
Strange to think that while a mountain of people are telling you that they don’t even or barely use social media, and most of everyone doesn’t even know who this guy is so they didn’t get to participate in the poll in the other thread before it closed, you choose to conclude this. The poll was ran for 24 hours, on a weekday, on a platform not even having anything to do with Diablo. That’s like me asking my plumber if I should get a new hard drive for my PC, and the audacity of the question is the equivalent of thinking it should require inquiry to find out if unclogging your clogged toilet is even a good idea in the first place…
Patients : - “We have a health condition. Should we address it? Or since other people out there DONT have health conditions, should we just ignore it?”
Business Owner - “We’re not making enough money. Should we try and make more? Or since other companies are making more money, should we just keep not making enough money?”
Video Game Company - “The game is both bugged and imbalanced and ruining peoples experience. Should we even fix it? Or since some customers are having fun, should we leave it completely busted?”
How is this the level of stupid I’m having to argue with?
Exactly. Didn’t even know about it until after it was over.
Also pez saying that it would not be fair to fix the bugs because people invested into gear makes no sense. Fixing the bugs would make the gear worthless? You would do no damage? Don’t think so.
Rod said at Gamescom that the SB would be OP.
Is not that enough reason to call for his resignation? He acknowledged that they were going to alienate almost half a player base with a poor INTENTIONAL decision?
What’s surprising on his tweet was people asking for buffs on other classes, of course they can’t do that right now. Why? Because Spiritborn is bugged right now that’s why it’s OP. How will they buff other classes then? By adding bugs on them? Lmfao
i found it funny cuz they took their time to break the rogue barb and sorcs … :=)
bunch of trolls
They also announced long before S6 start that there would be no Gauntlet this time (implicitly meaning: there would be no balance).
I’d say a bit of both. I think they put things in the game that can be used in a build that they know will be powerful but until the spreadsheets break out they don’t know exactly what it’s capable of.
I feel like that’s a deliberate choice they could create the builds themselves but purposely leave it up to the players to really push it to its limits to see what they can come up with.
Oh, he knew. He even joked about it in some interview pre-release and that was the point when I knew
In the end he is there to make as many dollars as possible for the company or they will find someone else to do it for them. Simple as that. Now it’s up to you as a consumer to decide if you want to open your wallet or not.
You can call for it, it will make no difference until who he reports to sees it in their bottom line. His job is not an elected position.
My curiosity generally leads me to more important activities
I think they knew but I think this is a game of 4D chess. SB being OP versus other classes and being fun might be the thermometer telling them where to go with the next season and other classes. They did reverse the change in which they boosted all classes damage after all due to feedback from the PTR so they’re clearly looking for an avenue but it can’t be a straight path it seems.
SB wasn’t in the PTR. Stop lying
The guy gives weird uncle vibes where he thinks he’s cool and totally gets what’s up but actually he’s cringe and completely out of touch.
