I’m saying a berserker is fueled by rage, and it makes more sense that their rage would start full and deplete, then have to build back up, as many of the stories about them describe trances and frenzies. Personally, I don’t think they should even have a resource…
My necromancer uses Decompose.
My favorite Aspect gives Decompose the ability to chain to two additional targets.
Anything affected by Decompose takes more damage from me and my Skeletons…!
My necromancer’s basic skill is also a STAPLE skill in combat, thank you very much.
issue isnt “generators are bad dmg”
its msot are only dmg.
example of a good generator: Bone splinters is good as u can get extra crit% from it.
this means it does more than do dmg it buffs your spenders dmg in process.
They (generators) should all have buffs to your spenders.
that creates a benefit from using em.
I’m doing something like that and am having a BLAST, being top 1% damage be damned.
It’s fun! I have caught myself multiple times quoting Ozruk when enemies die to thorns.
Game has depth lmao… Maybe if you compare to donkey Kong or something.
Depth… so funny
THIS is the problem right here.
Core skills use too much resource and it’s very difficult to keep enough resource available to take out enemies efficiently.
People are running in circles around monsters and bosses waiting for resource to Regen. It’s dumb.
Aren’t there a bunch of builds that just do away with generators? Just use one of them.
Most of the “meta” builds I have heard of use a generator. So, the answer would be… no, maybe as they are not meta.
You need high-end, high-quality aspects to have resource-free builds. They are not easy to come by. Not to mention near-perfect rares to inscript them to.
they should just implement a system to turn some of the health potions into mana potions.
FFS no. I don’t want to relive a single memory from D2R.
well then dont turn any of those HP potions into a mana potions
problem is : u must be in melee range for all of them cuz they are stupid enough and thought lets make D4 a melee only game even for sorceress . brilliant !
You know what is horrible gameplay? Attacking a target with a basic skill that doesn’t do much damage but applies conditions and regenerates resources.
You know what is awesome gameplay? Chugging mana potions! Give me some mana potions! Can’t wait to click a button to restore my resources instead of clicking a button to restore my resources. Better yet make them take up a lot of inventory space so half my bag is full of mana potions.
It’s one of many stupid things in this game. Like lucky hit, and the boring, dumb skill system.
We went from mana potions to mana potions to nothing to nothing. I DO NOT miss chugging mana potions in the slightest.
Not sure what you playing but you do not use them once geared in any build I have played in d4 either.
And if you think pots are bad in d3 and d4. The Mortal Kombat fatality move on controller you had to do in PoE every 5 secs or so on pots was much worse.
Why would mana have to take up inventory space? Do health potions take up inventory? No, they do not. Mana potions could be implemented the same way. Instead, some dev over there with 0 creative vision decided we should waste skill points to build up boring, dumb generators. It’s lazy game design that adds absolutely nothing to the game.
Well not really, I always built around not to have mana issues. That’s one of the good sides of PoE, There’s almost always either permanent or temporary workaround
ofc not counting mageblood
I am totally over this stupidity too.
I think of my Barbarian doing pitty pat damage so he can build rage! Just a stupid design carry over from Jay’s little game. I suppose mana was not much better.
I liked how Dragon Age a few games ago used stamina, that worked well and was understandable in a fantasy sense.
