General game thoughts

For those who don’t like to read: The endgame loot of being able to run tier 4 helltides or hordes just doesn’t seem to be worth it right now.

I have been dwelling on this game for the last few days as I was grinding away trying to land a Mythic. During my inevitable grinds, I was awaiting a world boss in Tier IV when I came upon a lvl 60 (30) character (“Shadow”) in the space. Now, I’m at the time a lvl 60 (215) and struggle to survive so inspect Shadow and somehow Shadow had managed to acquire 3 mythic items. At the time, I had acquired ZERO. I said to myself before I went on a rant I would do some experimenting and then post this. The experiment was basically me farming as much boss loot as I could, going into the highest tier boss fights possible, and exhaust my supply in hopes of obtaining two Mythic pieces to increase my build to survive the final season quests. It semi-worked but I ended up with two Spears of Lycander and one Tyaerl’s Might. Not helpful and disappointing after putting nearly endless hours into this season’s character. Even more so when someone with less than 8 hours somehow acquired 3 of the better items. On Tiers 3 & 4, I have slayed each minor lair bosses no less than 100x and the major lair bosses no less than 50-60. Except Andy, I’ve definitely slayed her closer to 100x. Out of those slays, very rarely have I even gotten higher GA rolls and, the aforementioned 3 mythic uniques.

Diablo IV has been an up and down experience for me. When it released, I spent countless hours grinding for the story mode. I was happy to get to the end and thoroughly enjoyed the story mode as it left me hungry for the next chapter. Then came seasons. I played the first season as it was interesting and I wanted to see how it would progress the story but it left me wanting something closer to the main stories. I intermittently played various seasons but I immediately picked up VoH and got very enthralled again with the progression of the story; however, I was livid about how short it was.

Since then the seasons, again, have been mildly entertaining but outside of a few, rarely do much to make the game better. Season 9’s story shed a little light on the overall progression of the story but still felt like it was missing a heart. The final quest going back to Deckard Cain had me excited until I finished and that was the end.

This long post isn’t to just vent and complain, but to say this game has so much potential. The seasons could be so much better if they all somehow tied to a main plot or something to keep it all moving forward.

The loot rolls need to be clearer and possibly buffed. If you want to limit the market on them, change the availability for differently levels to reach tiers and make it worthwhile to get to those tiers. Someone with 8 hours played (clearly on someone else’s coattails) shouldn’t be in a Tier IV setting when they can’t even survive a minor poison pool. Rolls with 2+ GA should be higher at tier IV. Increase the payoff for the hours put into the game.

So this one guy either A. Had a friend who plays way more than him and hooked him up with some husks and a t4 carry or B. Paid someone to do the same thing.

Don’t see the problem with that. I have friends that can’t play as much as me so I help them out like that all the time.

Don’t care about the story at all. If you want a good story play a god of war or last of us type of game. Don’t need anything slowing down my farming.
