Gems levels should be removed, it is obnoxious because it overwrites the equipment levels.
For better quality of life, gems should not have a level requirement anymore, only the minimum level to craft them should be considered.
Gems effects should be changed;
Diamonds all resistances effects should be doubled.
Some gems effects are almost useless and should be changed, here are a few of my suggestions;
SKULL
Weapon: +% Life Steal & +% Ressource Steal
Armor: +Armor & +Thorns
Jewelry: +% Damage Reduction
DIAMOND
Weapon: +% All Skills Damage & Effects
Armor: +% All Stats (Str, Int, Will, Dex) / +% Cooldown Reduction
Jewelry: +% Resist All Elements
SAPPHIRE
Weapon: +% Ressource Cost Reduction
Armor: +Willpower / +% Maximum Ressource
Jewelry: +Ressource per second
TOPAZ
Weapon: +% Core Skill Damage & Effects
Armor: +% Impairement Resistance; (+% Chance to dogde impairement effects, +%Damage Reduction While Impaired, +% Impairement Effects Reductiion, +% Effects Duration Reduction)
Jewelry: +% Core Skill Ressource Cost Reduction
EMERALD
Weapon: +%Critical Strike Chance / +%Critical Strike Damage
Armor: +Dexterity / +% Dodge Chance
Jewelry: +% Movement Speed
AMETHYST
Weapon: +% Basic and +% Ultimate Skill Damage & Effects
Armor: +Intelligence / +% Luck Hit Chance
Jewelry: +% Ultimate Skill Cooldown
RUBY
Weapon: +% Overpower Chance / +% Overpower Damage
Armor: +Strength / +% Maximum Life
Jewelry: +Life per Second
I do think all these effects are interesting and would be used differently to better support different builds and for different events, currently and since beta, most of the gems effects are not even good enough to even consider using them.
Also , I do think Strength fits better for Ruby and Intelligence fits better for Amethyst.
While Topaz should reflect endurance and core.
Also there is a problem currently with some builds reaching Resistance to all elements and Armor cap easily, leaving the Jewelry sockets empty or useless.
