S1, they give you even more total gems, in four different colors, which take place in your bag.

You mean increase stash tabs to at least 50. Gem tabs aren’t going to fix much. Just have 1 stack of royal quality of 1 of each gem and skull and you’re fine, you don’t need more.
Until they introduce a new gem, which I believe was datamined already.
Either way, whatever the motivation, there is no real need to stack to such a low number like 50. Especially when they drop like candy all over the place.
I mean this goes away once they add the gem currency…whenever that happens. 
No one needs more than one stack of gems, its not like D3.
imiting somthing to 50 in 2023 is BEYOND idiocy.
With all the players they just lost, I’m sure the servers have more room now!
