So my question is, if im level 100 and find a level 100 requirement weapon with 800 item power vs a lvl 70 requirement weapon with 800 item power, will they have the same damage? Or am I going to have to constantly gear up as I get to 100?
Honestly, it’s been suspected for some time (since launch) that the gear scaling is broken right now, so there is no straight answer to this.
In theory, you are supposed to get better versions of your gear if you are higher level and improve your gear as you get to 100. And technically if the piece requires a higher level it should mean it has better stats. This is not the case right now.
a 700 piece could have better stats than a 780, even though it has a lower item level and maybe lower armor. Its… quite unpleasant to be honest lol.
In any case, yeah… you gotta keep the grind going until you feel you’re good with your damage I suppose.
More or less I just want to know about the base damage/base armor
Ancestral rare items always roll 700ish-820
It doesn’t matter if you found them on level 20 or 100, the level requirement rage will be based on what level you killed the NPC that dropped it
Exception is if you’re below 60, then it requires 60
Solution is to keep level 60 gear level 60, and not level 100. It makes trading impossible and is bad for Alts
I assume they did this to make trading crappier because they hate trading
Weapon Power/Armor/Flat Value (Max Health, Protector Aspect, etc) mods are directly tied to item power. Increase every 10 item power I believe.
Everything else is either fixed (% affixes) or goes up into a new X-Y range at certain item power brackets (last one is 725+).
Thank you, so technically “endgame” gearing starts at 60 and I dont need to be level 100 to get the best gear.
You just need to complete the level 70 capstone dungeon and switch to World tier 4.
But the best gear (the very rare unique items) can only drop from monsters level 85 and higher.
Right, im already level 74 in WT4 so wasnt too sure if at this point I should worry about item level requirements.
Right.
If you can kill level 85 monsters you’re technically eligible to win the lottery.
That’s gear most won’t actually get to call that bis is disingenuous, that’s like maybe I’ll see one in 10 years crap
