Gamescom starts soon

Not sure if Blizzard will even be there with Blizzcon coming up. :man_shrugging: gamescom Opening Night Live 2026

I can’t imagine why they’d bother, they’ll save probably everything for blizzcon

Hey, right on. I’d forgotten it was starting today, so thanks for the reminder. But yeah, there’s no way Blizz has a presence when their own con is less than three weeks off. :v:

Blizzard didn’t mention being at gamescon, so highly unlikely they would be. Microsoft probably will be though, with whatever games they’re working on.

So, Diablo did show up, in spirit.
PoE 2 release day.

Could’ve sworn i remember them saying they’d tease something about the season theme at gamescom

At Blizzcon they said they would reveal it. Never saw anything about gamescon, unless it was on their Twitter / X account.

A new A-RPG I havent heard about before

Not clear if it is a Diablo style A-RPG or not. Sounds somewhat like it, but no mentioning of itemization.

Edit: Eh, nothing else matters. Witcher 3 remaster. All other games, just go home already.

Missed it. But Diablo 4 was present on Gamescom after all.
Not like this… not like this.

It’s therefore incredibly exciting to talk about another piece of this partnership — that a Geralt-themed skin is coming to Diablo IV.

Blizzard literally has their own Gamescom. why would they bother

Witcher Wild Hunt was fun but got trivialized pretty early on.

Double-dipping is a thing. GGG has their own ‘Gamescom’ but they teased a major release (in a sense, 3) on Gamescom opening night. I guess it’s a matter of having enough ‘stuff’ to spread around.

Sounds like the Tarae game that was shown is indeed a Diablo-like.

Operations will follow a seasonal structure. Koo explained, “With a seasonal model, we can refresh things term by term or try new things whenever we launch new content.” New characters will be added as DLC, and subsequent episodes will also continue as DLC.

That is basically Blizzard Speak™

Regarding items, while drops match the chosen class in the single-player campaign, in the endgame, the direction is to let players choose whether items drop for their own class or for other classes.

Not a big fan, but it is an idea I certainly have discussed when it comes to “Smart Loot”. Better than nothing.

Definitely not a fan of having this sharp line between game and endgame. But it too is very Diablo 4 like I guess.Definitely not a fan of having this sharp line between game and endgame. But it too is very Diablo 4 like I guess.

Endgame content takes on a different character. Koo explained, “While single-player focused primarily on physical action and narrative delivery, the endgame centers on the fun of min-maxing builds. We view deep build optimization, farming, and player trading as things that should mostly occur in the endgame.” In other words, what players experience in single-player will feel quite different in the endgame.
