Gamescom 08/2025

If they talk about the 2nd expansion a Gamescom what would you like to see?

For me the return to Kehjistan with a holy class (with auras) and some type of appearance of Diablo.

Paladin is guaranteed to come. Not even Bliz can mess up that decision here. Its that obvious.

I would like to see all this:

Reworked skills and passives

All multipliers gone

Aspects are free to change up gameplay instead of being all your damage stacking

Cellars made rare and useful like they always have a gob or something. IF one appears it pings ur map. Best density in game. Lots of ideas here.

Strongholds made into some sort of farmable content each week.

PvP eliminated. Just makes balance harder and its been forgotten. Diablo Immortal is a game based purely on PvP.

Hordes made funner. Its some of their best content. Lean into it more like perhaps Suffix and Prefix system to make each run different.

Long Horde of Forgotten Spires (10 wave base)
Long - Horde has an extra wave so this has 10+1=11
Forgotten Spires - All spires are skipped in this horde and spire modifiers dont appear.

More to do with reputation. More vendors and things to do with it such as a new currency drops in each area and you can spend it on vendors there so there would be fractured peak tokens and fractured peak vendors. You can spend resources and gold and upgrade these vendors for long term farming strategies.

Bugs crushed. Lets get a focus back on making the game work. POE 2 pulled devs from POE 1 to get their game fixed. D4 needs to do the same or hire more fixers.

Reworked AoZ. This was a good idea in theory in S2 but was troubled. Lets fix it up and reintroduce it as aspirational content and a second way to level glyphs and each season would have 1 new legendary glyph from this area for each hero.

Reworked paragon boards. Remove Board limits or up it to 6. 5 is very limiting. Make each board have useful keystones worth going for. Like enchanter one should just be gain +1 enchant slot. Sorcs would get that.

Mythics reworked and improved. Staff of Aha for example loses all resists and gains crit chance. Melted Heart hasnt seen play in 5 seasons.

New item rarity called Epic items. Epic items have an extra inherent and it is always economy related. This gives more items to chase but does not drastically change character power.

All bad affixes removed like single resists or life per sec. More cool affixes or affix categories added like FLEX where this affix is 2 dormant affixes and you pick one to activate and discard other.

Mounts improved. No more cooldown to go faster. Mount moves at max speed all the time. More mounts in shop like flying carpet.

More storage. Removal of loading other stashes. Sell for $ if you have to as it requires server capacity.

More character slots. Character rebirth option for streamlined season starts.

New harder dungeon class. Call them infernal dungeons. More obdulcite and chance for ultra rare infernal stones. Infernal stones reduce masterwork of an item one level letting you try for masterwork crit easier. Infernal stones work with items tempers and it loses 1 temper per infernal stone used on it. IF an item has 0 tempers left, then you cannot use any more infernal stones on it. Another way to do this is items drop with 1 infernal charge per GA.

Tempering improved. You can keep previous rolls. More manuals added so items dont brick.

Masterworking improved. New FIXED system added that you pick crits but pay average of what it would take to crit 3 times on same affix in RNG system we have now.

Mind cages brought back and work in all content.

Elixirs and incense all now last 1 hour and persist on log out.

Unique Health Potion Flasks added to game as a rare unique drop. More rare than other uniques. Maybe even 1 mythic potion as well.

Potion of Coalescing Energies - Whenever you teleport add 1 flask charge. - Sorc only Unique Health Potion.

Potion of Quickened Use - -1 second potion Cooldown. -1 flask charge. Unique Health Potion for all heroes

AdrIa’s Witch Brew - Gain 10 all stats for each charge on your potion. Your pet is Adria. Adria functions like a normal pet but also sometimes casts hex and random curses.
Adria looks like a tiny witch on a broomstick.
Mythical Health Potion Unique

All items now have 3 different inherents they can have except jewelry always still has at least 1 all resist. Even items with no inherents like helms would gain 3.

AH added. Items bind on purchase and other improvements. Need AH tokens that are rare drops all over game to be able to sell items. This makes listings meaningful and limited. 5% fee on all items. 10% fee on unsold items.

World bosses made better. More chance for epic items. More chance for GA items. More chance for large gold drops.

Pretty good list?

All that covered in 5 minutes at Gamescom for an expansion?

if anyone goes to the gamescom he should def visit me <3 Living like 10 walking minutes away from it

If you pick me up at the airport take me to my hotel and ensure I get real homemade German food. No fast food junk. We can go to the event, get Rod drunk hopefully he will give up some inside scoop so we can post it on the forum.

I would! But only if I get a place to crash.

Honestly, I’m surprised they’re attempting a Blizzcon EDIT: NEXT year. I figured with years of no Blizzcon combined with the MS buyout, we’d see everything migrate to Gamescon.

My money is on Templar, the Paladin-like class that won’t use a shield. Probably can equip a shield, but nobody will actually use a shield.

But really above that, I’d really prefer an Eastern Environment type area. There’s an absolute wealth of mythology that’s rarely explored in video games.

I might quit my job just for this :joy:

Oh thanks! Had my dates wrong. I thought it was returning in 2025. Either way, won’t be going.

I will just watch any Diablo stuff on YouTube. Just like Gamescom.

We have already done the Paladin and Crusader so maybe a Templar could mix things up a little.

I’ll just read it, because it will be all over the front page and forums. I tend to avoid Youtube and commentary when I can read the same content in less time.

The only way I’d watch a video is if they had some alpha/beta gameplay footage not available to the public. But even then, thinking about past Blizzcons that demoed D3/WoW nothing of real value was gleaned from the gameplay there when I was actually present. Many things changed prior to release.

One thing I remember for instance was the skill system in D3. The demo touted the fact that the numbers in green on a skill could be changed. Demon Hunter had a skill that called down Y Shadows that did X damage each. I was excited about that. But upon release, the Y value was still in green, but no actual ways in-game to increase the number of Shadows. You could only increase Damage.

Honestly all I can say is:

  • Surprise me

Literally anything. Well, don’t make the new class announcement that much of a surprise, but anything else being a surprise is a good change at this point

i wont go to the fair most likely, not a huge fan of those, but i can for sure get you some nice german food

hah, well you need to bring an air matress with you :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:

But what if he does not want to sleep on the floor in your bedroom? :sleeping_bed:

Getting a bit kinky here! But i think Nyurei knows I’m happily married.

They will probably show a 6 sec teaser: 1 sec “evil returns” 2 sec akarat chirchur 1 sec diablos ankle 2 sec blizz logo with 2026.

Lut Gholein? I would like that very much and I hope they dont mess it up. The sand environment type is always one of my favorites in every game. Having access to the coast line is also a positive. I missed that in Nahantu.
