The game was working fine yesterday. My friend told me there was a new update, so I stopped playing to exit and update. The game has been stuck at (updating 0%, initializing 96 Bytes/158.74 MB) since yesterday. I have restarted my PC twice, restarted battlenet 3 times, changed download limits from unlimited to 99999 and back, and still nothing. My friend’s update took less than a minute and he has been playing the whole time. I checked my internet speed and the download rate is over 400 MB/sec, yet somehow I am stuck at 96 Bytes for the last 12 hours.
I’m having similar problems. Patch downloading at 44 b/s. Yes, B as in BYTE. Tried rebooting program, computer, router, nothing solves it.
Haven’t had any problems up until today.
Strangely, after starting the bnet launcher (and the update starts), my internet gets severely limited. Problems browsing to websites.
Closing the launcher and waiting a couple minutes it gets ok again.
Starting the bnet launcher and internet halts again.
I have the same exact problem as you, Magos. It’s not even about not being able to download Diablo IV - which I cannot - but upon turning the launcher on it somehow messes up my entire internet! Only after turning it off and waiting for a few minutes it gets back to normal.
Same issue here, stuck on updating screen.
Has anyone found a workaround?
Ah, somehow I stumbled onto the US forums. But I want to tell you guys that on EU where I am from there is an absolutely massive, ignored topic about this issue: Diablo 4 crashes my internet connection - #81 by BattlePants-250683 - Technical Support - Diablo IV Forums
the game doesn’t update and ofc i can’t play without the update
i am stuck on version 1.0.3.42936
If i try to repair files nothingh is found
if i try to search for updates nothing is found
I know for sure yesterday it updated something but today im back to this version.
YO!
Yeah we have an equally massive thread on it here, a couple in fact. I have been tracking the issue for weeks now.
I’m pretty solidly convinced there are routers, modems, and ISPs that don’t like Diablo IV’s network traffic, and they mess up pretty predictably. But its not every ISP, or all hardware. Just seems to affect some.
For example, Charter and Spectrum come up quite often here in the US. There’s one in Australia giving players there a rough time, and a couple others in other countries.
I don’t know if it’s coincidence (could be a false positive), but I tried clearing the bnet cache as explained here:
Upon starting the bnet launcher again I managed to finish the patch download.
No problems while playing, for a couple hours orso.
i reinstalled bnet and it worked but took 5 minutes to upload. was uploading with 200kb and all off a suden jumped to 12Mb. I think they have problems with their download servers.
wouldn’t be surprised to see again tomorrow DDOS attacked
This issue still remains.
Seems to work again, if setting a limit on the download speed (download settings in the bnet launcher).
