I’m level 70 with the level 65 Smoldering Ash NOT UNLOCKED through normal gameplay. I pay for premium Battle Pass and i get 10 levels and unlock more Smoldering Ashes to be used for more XP. I literally paid to get more XP per hour.
Game is technically P2W now, even if it is a very small matter. Not to mention the fact that they promised this would never happen, that you couldn’t buy power or any advantages in the Battle Pass. And I’m 100% sure this was not the case in Season 1, but i didn’t pay attention after that so i don’t know when it started. It might just be a mistake and we can all forgive mistakes.
Again, i don’t think its a big matter, but this is about standing on principle. And we all know about slippery slopes. Don’t wanna go down that road and ruin this game. They promised it wouldn’t work like this, yet here we are. Was it just a mistake in the code?

Xp literally doesn’t matter atm, just make everyone 100 when creating a new char, not much difference atm
Dude, i don’t care about the XP increase at all. It doesn’t matter like you say.
The issue is the principle that they promised this wouldn’t happen. If you remember a year back there was people calling the Battle Pass P2W, but they cleared it up and said you wouldn’t be able to gain Smoldering Ashes before the ones that were free2play also got it. Now you can buy BattlePass levels and technically “get ahead” by buying levels to get Smoldering Ashes faster.

I dont think so … but maybe.?? Dont you have to be the correct level to get the ashes? Even if you open the tiers, until you are of level, you cant use them.?
Like, for eg: i am further ahead on the pass then i have access to for my ashes. Havent paid for any unlocks, but i think it still applies same way.

Like i said. I somehow got to level70 through completely normal gameplay and still didnt have level65 Smoldering Ashes unlocked. It might be a reward bug.
I was also ahead on my BattlePass last season than what my level was, so its weird.
I think it is a bug because I couldnt access the first ashes even though I was level 45. It didn’t unlock until I was level 50. I think the faster leveling has put the system all out of whack.

Well, thats completely possible, we all know how blizz does maths.
1000 + 40% = 1040.
Blizzard actually said this was supposed to be fixed when people pointed it out last season - but I guess it’s not fixed.
That could be it. I have been using XP Potions and Incense the whole time.
I actually think something with XP isn’t working right this season. By all accounts leveling should be faster than S4 but it feels slower.
Even killing 30 level above you monsters seems to do nothing, or close to nothing, in terms of extra XP.
Not even close to P2W. Who are you competing against? So they get to 100 faster than you. Only quicker to come to the forums and cry about bricking items, and the pit is to hard. This class OP needs nerfs
This is correct. Especially if you focus seasonal milestones, you will pass several ashes on the battle pass before you reach the correct level.
Yes you are correct, D4 has been PTW with xp from ashes from the first season. Devs also said they fixed it in the patch notes, but its still the same with accelerated BP.
I’m keeping up with the battlepass just fine. I’m not just spamming helltides though. I’m doing the journey stuff which gives bonus favor.
It’s not even a big deal. People screaming p2w over this little crap are ridiculous imo.
P2W = umbrella term for games that have advantages in the game you can buy. Its that simple. It doesn’t even have to be competitive, its the game you are “winning” against.

I’ve been consistently 5-10 levels under what the unlock requirements are for embers.
I’m having a laugh right now being 89 and having the 90, 92, and 94 embers waiting for me to catch up.
The fact they made them take longer to acquire … when they were already a pain in previous seasons, is astounding to me. When I read about the change I just thought to myself, “You’re moving them in the wrong direction on the pass.”

Oic. So the “BP unlock rate”, mysterious like a lot of other systems & interactions, is obviously not normalized for character level 
but tied entirely to some opaque “kills + objectives” formula for some reason. Kekw.
I’m pretty sure they could solve this by putting the ashes on a separate row & it unlocks with character levels. Oh wow, I think I just did 6-figure salary work, phew, I’m tired. Well-earned.
