Hello, Diablo IV player from the United States; currently playing while stationed in Iraq.
As you can imagine I occasionally have ping spikes and connectivity issues. But it really isn’t all that often. About once in a 4-6 hour session I’ll disconnect. With that said, there is some serious god damn issues with server sync and player progression.
Firstly, the game plays like a single player game with co-op capabilities. Why can’t I log off, and log back in, with my character in the exact spot that I left him? The technology already exists in World of Warcraft. Why do you teleport me to a major city every damn time?
Secondly, if you disconnect middle of a questline, it doesn’t matter how far you are. You need to restart the last server saved spot. At least I think that’s what is going on. Game progress saves client side and uploads to server? I really am confused how a game that requires you to be ONLINE, doesn’t just automatically update as you progress. Especially several quest points/cinematics later. Some questlines are worse than others from my experience. Act III for instance. Apparently doesn’t save for like 6 quests. Others like in ACT II you only have to start back at the city you began or the beginning of the dungeon.
Please above all fix this. Truly the most aggravating waste of my time… I feel like I’m being rick-rolled.
Suggestions:
Overhaul the stats - they’re absolutely lame as hell. Include (Strength, Stamina, Crit DMG, Crit chance, Attack speed/haste, perhaps ARP and Resilience for people that actually want to PvP.
Add a gem tab in the bags ffs
Allow trading, dropping, or otherwise exchange of resources like the ones used for upgrading the health potion. I was just trying to help out my wife. There’s no reason I shouldn’t be able to do that
Add the auction house. Removing it in D3 was stupid. Added depth and re-playability to the game IMO. Makes the gold I’m picking up feel like it has some buying power. Also makes gearing alts a little easier and less “grindy”.
Add in-game build suggestions/presets for people like my wife
