Does anyone else think leveling from 1-60 is too fast and the endgame grind for paragon and best in slot items is too slow?
I do. I went from 1-60 so fast…didn’t even finish the VoS campaign or fill out the whole Nahantu map. But now, I’m paragon point and item/aspect/glyph grinding and my feeling of progress is just gone. It feels like a chore.
I really hate paragon glyph grinding. It’s SO SLOW. Better than it was, but still.
I wish the game took more time with the campaign/leveling and less time with endgame.

I think 1 - 60 is too slow. The game until 60 is useless. It is the same as for Diablo 3. NOTHING you do until then matters at all.
In Diablo 2, you could find good items already almost the start. Here, it is a simply lazy grind, until the actual game begins.
Leveling an alt to 60 again is just boring to be honest.

How is the game useless until 60?
It’s actually fun, and you feel progress. You find things all the time that are upgrades. You get skill points that actually matter to your build.
Once you hit 60, you just gain piddly little paragon points that don’t do much of anything until you have multiples of 20 and can actually draw out paths on the boards that help your build.
Grinding glyph levels is tedious AF too. Progress is slow, and they don’t even level with ANY monster killing. The game forces you to do one endgame activity over and over to level glyphs.
Aspect leveling is also tedious AF because you have to not only find the ones you want, but also find ones that are ‘better’ than what you’ve already found.
What you call “the actual game” is what I call the boring endgame grind. To me, the game is the most fun when you’re wearing mostly blue and yellow items, and you start finding orange items and even maybe a unique. When you’re actively doing dungeons for aspects you want, doing side quests, and just exploring the map. The campaigns are really good, too. Better than basically every other top down ARPG.
So you like the leveling process and not the endgame. Yea D4 is definitely not for you my friend. I’m sorry to say the devs have already told us they want us to get to the endgame faster to experience all the game has to offer. They’ve held true to that philosophy and I don’t see them slowing down this process. If anything they’ll just keep speeding it up.
Totally agree, OP. No one should be hitting max level the same day a new season launches. It’s silly.
The moment I hit max level, the clock starts ticking until I’m bored. I’d play way longer each season if the leveling process and seasonal journey were longer.
I think it would be cool if completing the seasonal journey each season was actually somewhat difficult. If the cosmetics toward the end of the seasonal journey were reserved for people who played a lot during the season that would be a positive change. Completing the seasonal journey in a week (or less) feels bad.
What does it have to offer? Endless runs of the same activity for a chance in a chance to have a chance of a small upgrade?
I will say it again: RNG is hiding the fact that after you get a build that is good enough the game is out of gas. That’s why Spiritborns are bored now and that’s why they nerf the powerfull builds each season. And no, ARPGS are not about endless grind, they are about a grind to slowly upgrade until you can start facing raids and challenges that test your build through survival, DPS and mechanics.
