i cant play either =/ same problems
I ve the same problem loading chest items and cities.
I bought the game during s3 when it was on sale on steam and I got a new portable handheld PC
Now i beginning to regret bought on pc,so much crashing…and bugs
Will console be better?
Having the same issue on a 4090. The option to toggle DLSS is gone… in the game.
I guess that was a tactical decision and they didn’t realize people launching through Steam don’t have a launcher to change that.
I been playing sicne launch & never had lag nor crashes that were common.
Today has been lag central & I had my 1st crash
idk how devs mess up the game this badly…they arent new to this the company has been doing it for ages…
After a lot of trials and errors … I finally find a solution ,
I have to reroll the Nvidia Studio driver that was at 565.90 back to my older Studio driver 555.09 date 6/04/24 .
Dlss is still off , and I use Pezradar -nostreamline option to start .
Tested in a pit with 4 people , immediate improvement , in Cerrigar my fps jumps from single digit to 80 - 90 FPS …
Try a 30 minute Pits session , stable , running at high 55fps, go back to Cerrigar , can open chest with no lag , 70 -80 fps .
Check memory , usage 71 % , this on a 32 GB laptop , . It was hitting 95 % on the newer driver which suggest massive memory leak.
This old driver does the trick , no perceived memory leak and higher playable fps …
Guys try this solution if you are on an Nvidia gpu.
Until the next Bliz patch, I guess
Blizzard stop breaking the game, Performance has sucked since VoH launch !!!
yes, very noticeable display card need to work very hard with fan speed to maximum even in a smaller than open world dungeon map, risking the overheat and burn the gpu.
this is not normal.
You shouldn’t have to make changes to your system after a patch.
It’s not likely that your system suddenly starts having issues right after a patch.
It’s likely the patch.
I’m experiencing crashes worse than after the DLC. What used to be crashes to desktop prior to 2.0.4 are now PC crashes and not just every couple hours like before. I crashed to desktop instantly the first time I logged into the game after 2.0.4. Before my character even moved, I crashed to desktop. Then, my PC crashed again in less than 5 minutes after logging back in from restarting from the crash. I’ve never had a game crash like that before.
Usually, when my PC crashes from gaming, it’s like memory leaks or something that builds up and causes a crash over extended periods of time. This is something else entirely.
To change what? I use steam. I am not sure what you are saying.
i noticed almost every time blizzard update/patch this D4, it will automatically pushes our graphic setting to higher presets.
for my case, i normally custom some of the settings, but the patch keep changing everything to HIGH, resulted in longer login and crashed after the character roster screen.
No crashes on Xbox only dia show at worldbosses.
NVIDIA DLSS got removed, performance dropped but GPU need to spend more power to catchup, temperature raised 5˚C to 75˚C.
all graphic settings from custom-medium to low now but GPU struggle more.
not a good patch.
DLSS is handled by the D4 game client, not Steam. It’s disabled server-side which sets the flag to disable it in all D4 clients on PC.
The 565.xx drivers are…problematic and were even before today’s patch. The most stable drivers are the 561.09 drivers (game ready or studio drivers, though the studio drivers may have a few other minor tweaks for content related items).
Presumably the -nostreamline option manually shuts off DLSS so the game can at least start if the user had enabled DLSS before. It is now force disabled on the server side. The end user has no control over DLSS when Blizzard disables it on their end. Thankfully they only do so when DLSS is known to cause excessive crashing, as it currently does (once again…sigh).
It wasn’t removed, it was disabled. It’s still there, just not able to be toggled on by the player until Blizzard resets the DLSS flag server-side.
I had used the 555.09 since launch back in June and have never encountered any issues with last season before VOH and also when VOH launches …until today So what does the 561 driver fix since u say its the most stable ?
For most people that had updated to the 565 drivers, the incessant crashing forced them to downgrade and the most stable have been the 561.09 drivers. If your current drivers are stable, go by the ol’ tech support mantra: If it ain’t broke, don’t fix it. In the case of this patch, 561.09 won’t help because the client app it just massively broken right now. I’m on 561.09 and can’t even load into the game world on my 4090. It just outright hangs the app entirely until I force it to quit. There’s some really, really bad code in this patch and for a lot of us it means we’ll have to wait for an actual client side update before we can play again.
I had the same issue. I tried everything before finally just hitting “Reset to Default” on the graphics tab of the in-game options. After resetting everything I put it all back the way it was and the issue went away.
I’m guessing the DLSS option is still chosen in the game settings file but you’re unable to change it because it’s hidden. Try resetting the graphic settings.
mine drop down selection doesn’t have any NVIDIA DLSS to select or greyed out so it is a remove in this case. if disabled/ not able to toggle, it will be greyed out.
Same issue here, absolutely no issues until today’s patch. Running a 4080 Super and getting 22FPS is miserable.
