Game is just a huge bonus map with loot

The game feels like an endless bonus map, like being stuck in a goblin rift all day. Loot, money, and materials come in effortlessly no matter what I do. I don’t mind rewards, but it’s way too easy. I remember when they disabled skill points and made everyone start from level 1 in a PTR—it was so much fun! Leveling was challenging, but as soon as I reached the endgame, it became too easy again. My main issue with Diablo 4 is that players gain power far too quickly. Every season introduces an overpowered feature to make the game easier. Why does every season have to simplify things for players? I get it—most players can’t handle a challenge. If the game gets tough, the forums fill with complaints, and people start making videos about it. Make the game easy enough for Torment 1, but starting from Torment 2, the difficulty should ramp up significantly. Torment 4 should be the ultimate endgame and actually feel like it. Right now, everyone seems half-asleep on maximum difficulty, and it really shouldn’t be this way. Player power, in my opinion, needs to be drastically toned down. I don’t want to hear excuses about gamer dads who only play one hour a week—when I hit Torment 1, it was a breeze, and I jumped straight to Torment 4 in no time.

Enemies should be respected, potions should be used and managed, and if people want to reach the endgame at Torment 4, they need to be ready for it—it shouldn’t be a walk in the park. I’m not asking for bullet sponge enemies, but they need to be dangerous without insta-killing you regardless of your defense.

Torment 2 should be Pit level 55, Torment 3 around Pit level 75-80, and Torment 4 should be around Pit level 95-100, or… player power needs to be GREATLY reduced.

I have a similar sentiment, the problem with this is as a corporate entity, Blizzard needs to make sure that the shortest person in the room in a fantasy setting is entertained and has content to consume.
They need to cater to the lowest common de-Gnominator

This isnt a souls game. If you want that level of difficulty, play one. Its an arcade RPG shooter. Putting T4 at pit level 95 is just ridiculous. I’m a gamer dad and dont really care what your opinion is on them either.

Or play hardcore.

This game is like a safe haven for bad gamers. They are all 50 years old, hide from groups and expect their terrible home made builds to destroy all content. They hate anything like leaderboards that will show others how bad they are.

You are the coolest. Who gives a crap about leaderboards? If they’re here, great. If they’re not I could care less. Do you want a picture of it with your name on it to make yourself feel better because you are so awesome?

This is the reason that this game is so medíocre compared to other arpgs.

what is the reason? Because it doesn’t have leaderboards? Before I respond, I’d like to confirm that is why you think D4 is so mediocre compared to other arpgs.

I don’t really care about leaderboards. D4 is a mediocre game because the other two main competitors didn’t have 10% of Blizzard’s resources and history to make these games, and yet they have succeeded in making games far wider and more interesting regardless of game systems: like skill trees, itemization, and especially endgame systems. Diablo 4 is designed for the casual dad with five kids and ten jobs who plays two hours a day and spends money buying overpriced cosmetics. Proof of that is how they are about to go for the third “rework” of the game in two years… and that alone says a lot.

Mediocre is the correct word to define diablo 4 atm, which is far worse than ‘bad’ imo.

ok. I was just making sure it wasnt because of leaderboards. Dont know if I agree about the casual dad thing, but some of the points are valid, I think, based on what others have said. I like D4 better than those but respect the opinions of people who say the other two are better.

And before you crap all over casual Dad gamers, remember there are a whole heck of a lot of us who like different stuff. Not all of us have five kids and ten jobs. I, for example, have one kid and one job.

I’m not looking for a Souls-like game Kuros, but I do want some challenge or at least the option for it. There should be a balance, with easier difficulties for relaxed play—that’s where the Torment levels come in. If it’s too hard, just lower the difficulty, simple as that. Blizzard could add more Torment levels for those seeking a tougher experience, but adding too many might be overkill. Instead of 13 different Torment levels, it’s better to stick to around four, like they have now, and just tweak the numbers. For a more relaxed approach, players can stay on Torment 1, breeze through without worrying about healing potions, and play half-asleep, which is fine! But for those craving a real challenge and the thrill of fearing certain monsters, that would be awesome!

I miss the older Diablo’s ways, where managing healing potions was key in tough areas, and monsters were genuinely terrifying and demanded respect. In Diablo 4, healing potions feel pointless, and if they’re unnecessary, something feels off. As a 44-year-old dad myself with limited time, I still find the game way too easy. One weekend is enough to finish the season journey and battle pass—even my 11-year-old daughter has no problem with it. Doesn’t that say something? Is this game designed for mentally challenged people? It sure feels that way :frowning:

ITs something infecting all the arpg games. Even Titan Quest 2 has this now with one shot ice builds killing off the screen. Its something the new generation likes and something the older generation rolls their eyes at. Guess which of those spends on cosmetics?

Yep. The game has no meaning. Everything is just thrown away including the characters. Nothing matters. It’s all disposable garbage with no “emotional” attachment to the player. Just an endless one-shot fest with zero dangers to the characters.

No early game, no mid-game, the 4 end game activies are boring. helltides->seasonal activity->pits->bosses->repeat.

No sense of character progression whatsoever, it’s just digital slop and the only challenge is to stay awake and try to not fall asleep. Where is the thrill? where is the adrenaline?
