Not because it’s “the last chance for 5 times in a row” the memes or whatever, it is the last chance because the other games have stabilized or close to stabilization and this one (even in 2 years) hasn’t been stabilized yet
Unfortunately, as much as I dislike the game in its current state, it’s like an undead abomination, it’ll stay alive / keep coming back as long as people spend money on it.
They finished Game of Death without Bruce Lee and goldarnit they will finish D4 without Rod whatever his name is.

It isn’t dead in conventional terms, but with the amount of advertising and money they put into marketing, they expected to attract and keep a lot of new arpg players and they messed that up completely. It’s just the same old diablo players as usual again. Many people that tried D4 had never played a Blizzard game and now they won’t ever again.
