Game improvements?

Are they going to make the game good to play again?

I played the campaign and well… that was when this was released. At that time, I had no desire to keep playing. And to me, I feel like this game is already abandoned.

They’re teasing ‘big changes’ coming before the expansion. However no details have been given.

A lot has changed since launch. One might say it’s a whole different game since launch as well. So it’s hard to say if you’ll like the new iteration or not, or any of the changes coming.

Thank you for your response!

Would you suggest playing the campaign again?

Campaign hasn’t changed much in all honesty. It may actually be easier now depending on the difficulty you choose for it. The main focus of the game shifted to endgame content after you reach level 60.

There’s a lot of various activities to do, along with their version of crafting. Too many things to list here that have been added to the game since launch. The expansion also added new stuff as well. If anything I’d say give it a shot, come back here if you have questions about things.

Yes, play it, make your decision. You’re out however long it takes you, or you continue on because you decided you like it.

Either way you find out if you believe Blizz has let you down. Might as well get some of your monies worth out of it.

oh it changed a lot. Just like D3 campaign do to all the “changes” they did to monster density, monster CC, skill dmg (since s9 the skills all do like 2-4 times the damage as befor).

The normal Story in D4 is basicly dead. Gone forever.

I did say it’s probably easier. I just meant overall, aside from the difficulty, the campaign didn’t change much as the focus is on all the content after the campaign. Unless people want to go through the story and lore again.

This doesnt make any sense. They have made multiple changes, added an expansion, another is on the way, and 9 seasons. Abandon doesn’t mean what you think it does.

I think he means not abandoned but more like it feels like abandoned as all what they have done in 2 years is basicly miniscule.

In 2 years we got 1 new character, 1 new biome, 1 rather short addon campaign, a few glyphs and items as well as a few runes and the rather useless mercs and a coop mode that is basicly abandoned.

The problem with D4 is that they do not exactly go forward. It’s more like a circle rotation with a sligh shift forward.

In 2 years and a game of this magnitude you should expect a lot more especialy for a game as a service. Look at WoW and what happens there in 2 years. Be it good or bad but there happens “A LOT”

@Vukotlak summarized it well

Curious if you ran a poll asking folks if D4 to VoH felt in par with

WoW classic to TBC
D2 to LoD

I bet results might be pretty stark.

Even D3’s expansion only added endgame content to dive into. The massive damage changes weren’t until years later. It took a few years for people to even beat Grift 150 since you just couldn’t get powerful enough to do it.

D4 has added a lot of content outside of the expansion, that’s also one of the issues as well. We’ve seen such drastic changes before the first expansion, so when VoH hit it felt like they didn’t do much to further the game. Granted the game needed more than it had at launch, but because of their focus on all this new content, the expansion just felt like another seasonal patch.

They want to get as many people as possible back on board before it’s time to cash in again.

I mean yeah, even the difficulty is capped at expert. Makes no sense to me why you have to treat the campaign like this, since you can skip it.

They say they want to play it your way and not take sides, this crap, feels like taking sides within the playerbase.

I still play, i still enjoy, but the gutting of OG wasn’t necessary, and still hasn’t improved the overall quality for anyone, the game simply improved and added new systems in some area’s of the game.

I don’t even care about the density change, the CC nerf i care a bit, the white/blue/rare loot tiers and crafting i care, the special rare spawn unique rare items i care. Because it has made that side of the game vanilla and in some area’s obsolete. But for now i could at least have Penitent or T1 scaling for the campaign so i am not bored running around in my starter gear for half the campaign.

Even level scaling like it is in NMD and pit would help, and it would feel better there, than it does in the pit, where i feel like i got weaker even though my stats went up and i am running the same pit number, that to me is some confusing gameplay balance.

Oh well, like every season i play have fun and bail, and feel a little disappointed. Be doing that soon enough, as i close out S9. Can only hope this is what the major changes may include. But setting my expectations low. Don’t want to assume anything, there is no point. Wait, see. look at reality, make a choice to play or not.

In general the game i would say is improved, there just is no reason at all, to have the general balance, missing capstones and things like this. There are fairer and more interesting solutions, that don’t involve taking sides. UC is a nice example, i enjoy that and don’t care that DC is for groups, that is a fair and great way to improve the game.

Not the end if it doesn’t as the game is still fun and a game, it would add to D4 though to bring a little oldschool D4 back in the improved game. And we can do this so easy and fair. Anyway look forward to the surprises and updates, i go dark before new seasons so that makes a difference.

EDIT
Edit- Ok no wonder the game is feeling bad, This makes 0 sense, i was in the up half of curve in T3, working on as one days power, to unlock pit 50 to Unlock T4, did that, then MW, then leveled glyphs to 35-40 ish, However inpspit of that, due to some sorcery

I am rolling backwards, and even if i take gear that increases my stats, a pit 43 feels like the 50 i previously conqured, it is litereally like the game is pushing me backwards.

There is a problem, no becasue i am not done leveling and such, the journey feels bad when you backwards, despite makeing forwards upgrades, This doesn’t happen until well the update, and getting to T3, wasn’t in T3 Before the roll back, but the game feels worse.

It’s like playing DND with a DM that is cheating, It makes no sense, and so now what? i am forced to level my glyhps at pit 43 with less than 100% chance despite already beating pit 43 and in fact 50 when i wad going up, but now i have MW my gear to Stars i am weaker?

Make it make sense i have changed nothing that i can see, pretty sure i am playing the same build that unlocked 50 , as that would be the only variable. However i have gone nuts testing the stats with taking out Unique and putting in stronger stated GA’s and despite that i am actually weaker again.

This is why i can understand people not wanting to play, i might actually be done unless my alts don’t have this issue due to it being a class bug.

Feels wrong. Please fix it, start of S9 didn’t feel this trash. :+1: It’s one thing to have a build reach a ceiling as the try to climb, this, is not that, this is literally increasing power and upgrading = harder pit even though 50 should be 50 and so on. Really doesn’t fit how the game was getting to this point especially since i long since out levelled 40-43 to unlock 55, so i should be stronger due to MW and glphs and paragon , not weaker, and that means there is no progression, which feels stupid, why do old monsters i conquered feel like brick walls, they don’t kill me, but i can no longer beat the timer, becasue i am weaker? :upside_down_face:

Again? I am still waiting for them to make it good the first time.

Wait? The game is playable?

Campaign was great. Then cliff meet player.
