This seems to work for me also! Thank you. I also had it installed at first but modify install → remove high res pack then install it again. Played for two hours and no problems anymore.
So any fix for Xbox one yet?? We can’t re-install with different assets. In fact, the Xbox “Graphic” Menu has:
- Font Size
- Brightness
- Safe Zone (adjust the extent of screen space)
- Color Blind Filter
That’s it. That’s all the Graphic options for Xbox one… this $hit is ridiculous. I was following this druid and rogue and we were having a blast but not on mics or anything. Just using emotes and running around together. Then the area changes and my game completely freezes… I waited 5FIVE ENTIRE MINUTES before I decided to quit and reload. Never saw my friends again… and that’s not even the worst of it. Sometimes if my objective is on the other side of the map right next to a way point, im better off walking cause if I try to fast travel… well, there is no ‘fast’ travel in this game rn…
How did the full install go? I have played around 120hrs in the betas, and perhaps 80 hours during early access, absolutley no problems. Once it went live to all and they started the “live maintenance” I started getting these issues. Have tried everything but a full fresh reinstall, would like to hear it worked before going to that length.

Had no problems with the game until today. I assume one of the patches/live fixes must have messed something up. Nothing worked until I tried installing the high res pack, has completely resolved all the freezing/crashing for me at this stage.
Chiming in to say that I now have the same problem all of a sudden.
Never had it during beta and live, up until now.
Same issue here, any menu (inventory, abilities, etc) freezes the game, downloading the high res pack to see if that will fix it. Really annoyed having to wait yet another day to play the game.
I sincerely hope that someone from the tech department will read this and take an interest.
Since June 6, when I started playing Diablo 4, I have a problem with losing connection to diablo servers or the game just freezes. The problem occurs when there are a lot of people around me (e.g. in the city) and I open the inventory, then, the problem occurs very often when I am in a dungeon and want to teleport to the city to sell items. Yesterday I did 10 dungeons and only completed 3 or 4 because the rest either dropped the connection or got a freeze screen when going to town. THIS IS A VERY BIG PROBLEM. It’s impossible to play normally like that, I want to play to relieve stress, not add more stress…

Surely got better, but it just crashed on me after 1h playing.
I am experiencing NPCs, enemies, and skelly summons freezing in time every few minutes and I have to Alt F4 and try again… changing the graphics settings from ultra to low fixes it for about 1 minute. then I change back from low to ultra and it fixes it for another minute. Sometimes I will change and the time it takes to change I’ve been killed.
Bought the game and also experiencing this issue. Really frustrating.
Hi, got the same problem, uninstall->install the full game, then uninstall only the graphics pack then reinstall them but still facing this issues and finding no solution anywhere, if need :

Setting the resolution percentage to 110% seems to fixed it for me. without downloading the HD pack. RTX2080 + I9 8950
Same issue here - happens when I teleport, open character or talent menus, and enter dungeons sometimes. I tried disabling the high res on modify install to no avail.
I have to task manager close the game 2-5 times an hour. Very frustrating.

Crazy, it’s been 9 days and not a peep.
Why would I need the high res pack to play with medium res textures?
Why is it affecting PS5 and XBox users.
We don’t all have the extra 40GB to install useless data.

Had same issue, random freezes when entering an area, in town, or when casting spells.
With a i9-9900k and RTX 3070.
Game is on an NVMe.
Disabling Nvidia Reflex in-game results in a much more smoother experience. Everytime I turned on Nvidia Reflex on my computer, the whole system was unstable.
Almost all my freeze are gone.
I hope it can help.
I tested with high-res and regular textures. Only this fixed my issue
