Game does not disable Windows screen saver functionality

As the game does not run in exclusive full screen mode (ostensibly as a fix against the issues reported by players when switching tasks), it also does not seem to prevent Windows from activating the screen saver.

As I’m playing on an OLED TV, Windows is set to set enable the screen saver (black screen) after a minute. This unfortunately means that when watching a longer cutscene without any input (moving the mouse/pressing a key) the screen saver is triggered by Windows.

The game should use common Windows APIs to prevent this from happening while it’s the active application.

I’m having the exact same problem. I use an OLED as well and have a screensaver set to turn on within one minute to help prevent burn in. Blizz, please correct this issue.

Same problem with me, OLED user with short screensaver timer.

Same here but I’m using an OLED monitor rather than a tv. Is there even a way to rewatch cut scenes?

Literally, I had the same experience. Watching one of the best cut scenes at the end and the screen saver kicks in.

How is a game that launches from the same launcher as EVERY OTHER GAME YOU HAVE THAT DOES THIS, not do the same thing? please fix.
specially since when i need to walk away and back and the computer has screen saver up it definitly messes up the game and i will need to relaunch.

Same as everyone else…watching a really nice video and poof screen saver.

This is an easy fix, Blizzard.

Also having this problem.

Same here, fast screen saver setting to reduce OLED burn in, I have to keep hitting some input during cut scenes, super annoying and kinda ridiculous that this is such an obvious thing to get wrong that basically every other game gets right out of the gate.

Joined the OLED-Gang, now I got this problem too…

Still no fix for this? I just started playing Diablo IV, hard to believe this hasn’t bee addressed in all this time…

+1 OLED Screensaver issue in Windows

Can’t believe they still haven’t fixed this issue

Even after the launch of VoH this „Bug“ still occurs. As an OLED user this is kinda frustrating as you often forget to love the mouse a little bit while watching a cutscene.

While we are at this, g-sync (VRR) also doesn’t appear to work correctly.

2025, and still the same issue
