Game Direction?

OMG, I’m at level 40 I think I’m done with Act 1, but I have No idea… where is the direction… where is Deckard Cain to tell me where to go next… OMG yes I’m going to the yellow quests but come on, someone tell me when I’m done with act 1 and should move forward… sighhh…

It has some kind of “sandbox freedom” that I think it doesn’t make sense in this game.

You’re done with each act when you open the journal again and your next quest has a new act number ^^;

There isn’t a clear flow during acts 1-3 because they’re able to be done in any order. I kind of felt like it weakened the narrative a lot for the first half of the campaign, but it does help with being able to wander around doing side stuff so that you can over level yourself by accident :S

game direction seems to be straight into the ground at the moment. this is subject to change in 7 years when they release an expac.

It’s a bit of a mixed bag to be honest. I absolutely love a well made open world and non-linear quests. On the other hand, there shouldn’t be any urgency to the story for the non-linear campaign to make sense.
Take the Elder Scrolls games for comparison, Daggerfall and Morrowind did this quite well. Then came Oblivion and Skyrim with epic stories and high stakes right from the get go. But nah, I know I should find the emperor’s last heir as soon as possible, but I’d rather finish picking these mushrooms and flowers first.

Follow the yellow quest road…

It makes the story really disjoint when you can do any of the first 3 acts in any order.
It’s basically 3 separate stories that are supposed to merge together in act 4 but it doesn’t really work IMO.

The first 3 acts on your first playthrough take forever and I didn’t personally find a “meet the cast” introduction really captured my interest.

Yet ya hang out on a dead games forums lol… Go to POE forums there is someone like you saying same about it for the last 11 years. Got to last epoch… Game isnt even finished and theres someone like you saying its the end. You people are always wrong why is this?

Yeah, I believe that’s part of why I didn’t enjoy the 1st part of the story (liked the second part a lot).

It all wraps up in the end. SOme blue side quests add to it as well My advice take your time explore

hopefully in 2. But I’m wondering if this focus on new stuff every 3 months is going to get in the way of an expansion. We might see 1 in 4 years.

i’m just lost, not sure how much more i can play… i’m getting bored real fast.
