Game difficulty?

You can call me wrong all you like.
But now since the patch even on vet 2 i don’t even need a elixir…
FFS…I get it the game gets harder…but to me this undoes fundamental gameplay in early game.
Which matters to some people Blizzard.
Back to feeling like d3 was on launch campaign has no challenge now.even on vet 2.
WTF…games not even out a month and, you may have pleased some nightmare t4 grinders but man at the same time have made at least for druid campaign feels like d3 snooze fest again,
Yeah i am crying about it. It sucks.
class and game felt balanced to me and all that goes out the window to appease endgamers less than a month after release.
So much for getting it right i guess. Only lvl 47 and don’t even need an elixir any more so why go around collecting materials. Makes the journey boring.
I new it was a mistake to but a live service game. but no i was convinced after watching and now …what wait until there is t3 story, a new patch…rip through the campaign and join the grind.
Yeah play your way my butt. Play like Top streamers should be the slogan.
Please give me a base offline version if this is how you plan to balance the game.
Just my worthless tip, Look at guild wars 2 and how they class balance, smaller changes and not all the classes at the same time, Still they make mistakes too, and will break a class to re-balance it, but less dmg at once is something to consider?
Just FYI also i am level 47 died 0 times and have killed the butcher twice before the patch.
So making the early game easier is not exciting for me.

The campaign was always easy at 45+

I also had no problem at world tier 2.

Playing As a Druid shapeshifter?

No. I did not play as druid.

So i accept the game experience as i was for you, but i can only speak for my character and the gear i have and the change it made, for me.
Pre patch T2 offered me a challenge so much so i opted for T1 so i could relax a little but not be bored.
Since patch…i am bored on T2 with my current kit.
Idk just saying how it is for me.
Each class and what gear and build will obvs make the difference. Hence why i feel the patch feels not great.
Maybe T4 endgame Nightmare uber whatever it feels nice, but right now i feel OP versus how it was.

D3 was very difficult at launch.

Hahahah good troll.

D3 inferno act 2 was easy on launch? You’re in vet 2 making judgements on the difficulty of the entire game? Pop that NM tier 100 key and show us how it’s done, king.

Really…for me the campaign on normal was a breeze. Fun but not challenging at all i probably died a couple of times from my own monster pull greed, thats it really. Until later on.Pretty sure it was only difficulty available until first completion.
Derpalator…Learn to read slower, not making judgement on the whole game.
I swear the points just wash over you like a wave and you make a smug comment that has no context…nice one.
I am Saying that it ignores imo lower end gameplay.
Might not matter to you.
But i does to me.
Since i care more about quests and journey than fighting uber Lilith over and over.
Or whatever HC grind.
So it’s lazy patching to appeal to the endgamers since top streamers are already at that point.
So i am disappointed.
I would re-roll and play the core game and have fun just like darksouls, but balancing like this and making lower tiers redundant is not going to help.
It’s how d3 feels crap more than half the torment levels are gargbage at a certain point and with sets torment 16 is easy lol, that is not great game design…

nothing about the game is challenging though… Diablo has never been a difficult game

Fair enough.I disagree.
d1 and d2r are challenging imo.
D3 can be these days but not really in a fun way.
D4 i felt had a Better difficulty Balance between V1 and V2.

Diablo games have always had 2 difficulties:

  • The one where enemies don’t oneshot you.
  • The one where they do.

There is no inbetween.

Fair enough.
So D4 should be the Same. LOL.
Why.
Boring.
I wish they made the souls like game instead now, this arpg needs to be this static ideal is boring as paint drying.

Pretty sure you did not play Inferno dif when D3 launched

Maybe i cant remember but i am talking about the locked until finished campaign difficulty.

Oh yeah sure that was a walk in the park.

The ony diablo games with actual difficulty in the beginning is D1 & D2. Clearing the acts solo with no help even in normal was not a piece of cake.

Honestly it is like Elixirs and Gems were an after thought.
Elixirs are barely needed unless you are on Sorc and need resistance.
And there are just so many gems that drop that you will never even use and their sell value is nothing, but they take one whole spot in inventory.

I wait till level 52 to do my Act 6. I am 2 level higher and still died 2 times. Easy-mode experience of D4 never exceed D3 's.

So? am I the under-performer which is only the lower 5 percent player base?

I still don’t understand the point of elixirs.

At around level 50 if you haven’t used Elixirs diligently they start to fill up the tab and everytime you find an Elixir you stop and wonder which useless non-stacked Elixir you can consume to free up a slot.

I have not bothered to craft any Elixir since they drop like candy.
Was it a gameplay decision to have you pop an elixir from your inventory every 5 minutes for a measly 5% xp and a random buff , it’s boring imo.

It’s like imagine finding Anni in D2 but you have to click on it every 5 minutes to trigger the bonus xp passive that expires.

Another thought is they saw POE potion system they thought why not make these consumables ? This could be fun. I mean smh…

Gems are 100% useless beyond slotting them in your gear and even then the resistances ones are trash. Maybe in the future we’ll be able to do something with them, anything really would be better than what we have now.

Don’t worry about stuff like this, you are not playing against anyone. Just enjoy what you can of the campaign.
