These crashes are killing the fun. I just ran to the middle of nowhere to fight a world boss. waited 14 minutes for him to show up only to crash 2 minutes into the fight. Log back in and he is gone. If they don’t fix this soon I’m done.
Yeah, can’t play for more than around 10 minutes (at most) between crashes. I’m just going to set the game down for now and come back when they’ve released a fix for this. It’s impossible to play right now.
In addition to doing this we should probably also get tickets submitted to blizzard direct. Being an IT guy i can see it easy for blizzard to ignore these forum posts. I think It’s some pr persons job to occasionally look at these forums and it’s probably not happening. If we however all submit tickets i gotta think they need to acknowledge and at the very least assign the ticket out in a timely fashion. It should be harder to ignore an influx of new ticket requests than it is just some forum posts that probably isn’t alerting anyone…
Contributing to this post to say I’m experiencing the same issues. Game ran flawlessly before the patch yesterday. Now I get Fenris crashes anywhere between 10 minutes to 2 hours of random gameplay.
i have to jump on the boat too .
Had zero crash since early access , after yesterday patch it started crashing at radom , happening maybe 4-5 times over a 3 hours game-time . screen just froze , then a windows popup that the application stopped working , non error code , no fenris .
Go to the Diablo 4 folder and change the properties/compatibility of the .exe
Thank you I’ll try and report back. Will also be submitting a ticket to blizzard direct with the evenviewer crash report. If anyone knows where other crash logs that blizzard would find useful so that i can expedite their troubleshooting that would be awesome.
Testing now, I’ll tell you later what happened
Having similar issues as others here. Unpredicatably my game will freeze for extended periods. Typically it is on load screens, but also happening when accessing stash, vendors, wardrobe, occultist, literally anything that opens another window in the game. Sometimes will fix itself and eventually load in, but just as often will lead to the game saying it disconnected, acting like it is going back to character select and then closing with no noticeable error or actual crash. I moved the game to a different, faster SSD thinking maybe that was the issue, but all that did was shorten successful loads by a number of milliseconds. Freezes like this had occurred before this patch, but very rarely. Now it is game breaking how frequently it occurs.
I posted on twitter about this. Can y’all retweet and like so maybe they get a clue lol. Here’s hoping!!! https://twitter.com/Darth_Garebear/status/1674113112528519201
Retweeted here’s hoping
You should add @blizzardcs to your tweet. Think that’s the one who usually helps with issues
Not sure if its the same for you guys but it seems like it’s VRAM related. When i first log into the game, i’m using like 7/10 GBs and it slowly creeps up to around 9.4/10 before it crashes.
reducing textures and more aggressive dlss helps to make the crashes less frequent but the VRAM still keeps creeping up slowly regardless
Same problem but only during nightmare dungeon, five time in a row
Garbage game, same issues as everyone else, was fine before they released this patch… now crashes every 5 minutes.
I teleported to all the big cities, pvp zones, some small cities, I entered dungeons, but I couldn’t make it reach 100% usage, it stopped at 18.5GB and kept floating in that amount. RTX3090 Galax is my graphics card. Although it has not crashed, it is an abnormal use of VRAM
I would really love if our messages didn’t seem to just fall into a black hole. Hundreds of reports of this crap since the patch and complete radio silence from Blizzard. For all the talk Blizzard has done in recent years about increasing their communication with the community, they sure are completely absent these days. It’s all just lip service.
I would post this on the nvidia boards. Get AndyB on the case.
Is there a specific reason why the NVIDIA boards? The problem is happening on all kinds of hardware. I have an Intel CPU + AMD GPU and the crashes are constant.
This isn’t just a yesterday thing. For many people it started weeks ago with Hotfix 10, some even earlier. Yesterdays patch just welcomed a big new group to the crash club. Also they really don’t seem to care. Until enough people just uninstall and walk away it’s a non priority issue.
